YOU DROP IT, YOU BUY IT...female buyer's test ride...

The dent could have been prevented (or at least ameliorated) had the tank protector been placed properly...

How long before a 250 gets boring?

Unlike most people here, I bought a 250 as my THIRD bike. Granted, it's not my only bike but it's the most fun I've had on a motorcycle.

How not to learn to ride a motorcycle :(

Sounds like a classic case of twisting the throttle when reaching for the brake lever, then panicking and letting go of the clutch ... RIP rider. Wth was the friend thinking?

How is the M2 exit test emergency stop done?

Leaving your right turn signal on is misleading when doing a roadside stop. I believe the MTO has recently changed its stance on that -- if your bike has 4-way flashers, you need to have them on. However, if it does not, after you shut down the bike you also turn off the signal.

going straight on a turn lane reasoning

It's not the painted signs on the pavement that he has to worry about (they are not binding). It's because of this sign that OP received a ticket: http://goo.gl/maps/dCeu

    Triumph owners unite!

Alright! More Sprint riders lol. To be honest, I've probably seen a grand-total of 2 post '05 Sprint ST bikes on the road, other than my own. Any mods? :)

Renting a trailer for my trip to NY

Rode 1,300km in roughly 13 hours before ... 400 miles is VERY doable. Frequent breaks are key in order to stretch.

Used Triumph Tiger 1050 or new Vstrom 650?

    I disagree... http://www.sport-touring.net/forums/index.php?topic=4061.0

Used Triumph Tiger 1050 or new Vstrom 650?

+1 for the Tiger. Though if you plan to do a lot of offroading, the lesser weight of the VStrom will be an advantage. I've owned bikes with both of these engines (SV650 and currently a Sprint ST), and while I enjoyed both, the triple is better. How about a Tiger 800 XC? This would be the best...

    Motorcycle course

I would not worry too much about the weather ... just make sure you dress warm and manage to stay dry. Hopefully by the end of the weekend you'll appreciate that you've ridden in less-than-perfect weather -- you'll be a better rider because of it!

M2 Exit course Humber Fall dates

Call the Humber College Registration Desk at 416-675-5005 to ask about this, I am unsure of the answer. Course codes are CYCL 081 (Etobicoke) and CYCL 083 (Mississauga).

M2 Exit course Humber Fall dates

The courses run every weekend to the end of October (with the exception of Labour Day weekend). Dates past August haven't yet been loaded in the course calendars (Etobicoke, Mississauga).

Condo giving my bike the boot

Normally, when a contract is signed between two parties and ambiguous wording is involved, this gets interpreted against the party who wrote the contract. In your case, however, this is a set of bylaws and not a contract per se, but it would be interesting to see whether anyone else has fought...

    Motorcycle course

If learning how to ride becomes second nature before the lessons, then there's no point in taking the lessons. The worst habits people pick up on their own have to do with eye movement and body position (such as fingers on levers etc). Not to mention preconceptions about what's possible and...

    Motorcycle course

I disagree... "learning" how to ride before the course will just make him/her develop bad habits.

AFX: oval-biased (Shoei-like?) -- I got this from a review I read. Fly: round-biased (very similar to the Arai RX-Q I own) comprehensive comparison between the two: http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-helmet/fly-trekker-helmet/

Condo giving my bike the boot

Normally, I would agree with opinions posted here, but it's likely the OP knew (or should have known) beforehand that there was only one vehicle per spot allowed and chose to ignore it. It's the same thing at my condo -- however, so far I have not been told to move my bike. If and when that...

    Afx fx-39-ds

Fly Trekker is also the same helmet, available at Royal and GP Bikes and potentially others as well. I just bought one (in hi-viz yellow) and it's not bad -- my biggest pet peeve with it is that visor does not have a defog position (slightly opened) -- I intend to fix this by drilling this into...
