Who here wears an air-bag jacket/vest as im looking for advice on buying one

I'd say both … The intelligent airbags are much more complex than cable-actuated models (which have a single trigger). Data from gyroscopes is continuously interpreted by the on-board computer and complex logic is used to decide when to actuate. Moreover, sensor data is never a smooth, and...

Who here wears an air-bag jacket/vest as im looking for advice on buying one

I don't know how it works for Helite, but software updates can be done at home with the Alpinestars (I've done it twice for mine already).

Who here wears an air-bag jacket/vest as im looking for advice on buying one

I'm not sure an all-in-one solution exists for what you're looking for. Airbags absorb shock, whereas neck protection is achieved by limiting head movement. This is what neck braces accomplish, and I don't know that you can achieve this with an airbag. I paid about $830 CAD for mine (tax...

    Are ohlins worth it?

My comment isn't about Ohlins in particular, but about a better, adjustable suspension overall. Most OEM suspensions are made for the average-sized conservative rider, with average to beginner skills. Step outside that envelope and you'll be left wanting for more. My NC700X with stock...

When you figure out panniers/luggage is actually awesome

I admit this stressed me quite a bit at first, but in reality I've never had a problem with that. Other vehicles running into me, that's a different story.

When you figure out panniers/luggage is actually awesome

The strategy here is to keep the overall width in the rear equal to or smaller than the width of the handlebars (preferably a bit smaller, as the rear tracks tighter in a turn). Doable with two panniers for most bikes.

Who here wears an air-bag jacket/vest as im looking for advice on buying one

So I bought the Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 the day it came out. - it protects quite a large area, especially in comparison with other vests (shoulders included) - it is worn on the inside of the jacket, which allows me to easily switch between jackets (I commute daily, rain or shine, throughout the...

    Afx fx-39-ds

I bought the Fly hi-viz helmet last year. Fits my round noggin really well. For the price, it's a great deal. Finish does not compare with more expensive helmets (in fact the paint has already chipped in one place, now covered by a sticker). Liner is also not as soft, but not bad overall. I...

NAKED HEADLIGHT MOD... how to achieve this idea?!

Unless the parts you are putting on are DOT approved, they are illegal for use in Canada. With a design like that, likely to really stand out, you're probably asking for trouble. I do like those lights though!

    Ticket, Acceleration, Distance Covered Question

Actually it's a calculus problem, but either way there's no solution possible without knowing more. Without writing anything on paper, I suspect the correct answer can be any value inside interval [0, 94.(4)] meters.

    Humber Course or RTI Course?

Call Humber around tax filing time. They will look up your student number (they assign you one when you sign up for the course) and provide you with login details to their web site, where you can download the T2202A form which you will use for your tax return.

    Unsaftied vs Safetied: Use buying

It's always preferable for the seller to safety the bike (on top of providing the UVIP). Not only do you provide some additional assurance that the bike is sound (as you probably state in the ad), but it's also much easier for you to do it as the bike is likely already plated (and insured) --...

    Humber Course or RTI Course?

Here is a unique perspective: I took the course at RTI some time ago, and now teach M1x at Humber. The reality is that both courses are good and taught by instructors who love what they do. Yes, we're still using the 250 Viragos. They are extremely versatile and user-friendly and available...

Any Supersport riders move to Supermoto?

I bought a WR250X end of last year and I love it. However, it's painful for longer rides -- comfort is not an issue, but the lack of power is. On the other hand, it's absolutely perfect for the city!

How is the M2 exit test emergency stop done?

Again, if your bike is not equipped with 4-way flashers, it's best to turn your signal off after you stop.

Using the "choke" and a little bit of throttle to get moving......

Johnny, that is incorrect. Stay in the habit of using the kill switch to turn the bike off. Otherwise there's no way to tell whether or not the kill switch still works and you don't want to find out in an emergency that it's stuck in "RUN". Additionally, using your kill switch to turn off the...

    My bike won't start

I've got one bike that I don't ride that often (the Triumph)... it's normally sleeping in the garage, always connected to a battery tender (this one). Once you've drained your battery a few times, it is usually shot due to the degree of sulphation inside. Some chargers will lightly de-sulphate...
