Yeah... I've let people test ride, but all bikes were sub $3000, and all test riders were middle aged men who i'd trust.
Having said that, the vast majority of people who bought bikes from me never asked for a test ride.
If the walking dead was more realistic, this is what Daryl would be driving.

I have two DR650's (his and her's). Love 'em. Price wise for the DR650, take into account you will likely have to put on a bigger tank and better seat (or airhawk).
Really???
Good to know, i just picked up a complete Triumph for $1k. Will probably need a top end, but that's like 500 bucks.
One thing i notice about many amateur collectors is they'll look in other markets (UK and US) and think it is the same here.
RD250s and RD350s sell for at least double...
Most frustrating thing to see in an ad is someone who claims they need to sell "right away", "URGENT!", "NEED GONE!"
But are asking full market value FIRM.
In the adv world it ticks all the boxes in one factory bike. Less than 300lb dry weight, reliable engine, rally set up with large fuel capacity. They pretty much made the bike the most high-end and high tech of everything.
Tried to get my KTM 950 SMR insured with them (already have like 5 others with them) and got the same response ("we don't insure those bikes"). Went to Dejardins for the same price I expected to pay with Wawanesa.
I personally find the Yamaha's to be more expensive, and also a bit better. The honda have more collectability value, while the yamaha's are bought to be ridden. I don't think you can go wrong with an XT225-350.
