I had a DRZ400S, pretty much the same bike, very pleasant to ride, but it needs a 6th gear and the seat is horrible, anything over an hour and it was painfull. I triued the Suzuki gel-seat and it was worse. Nice smooth motor. Heavy for a 400 but you don't notice it on the street.

Personally I have never seen a posted ramp speed limit sign that is too fast for a bike to negotiate the ramp safely. Not sure what the ramp speed was in this case, but if you aren't a confident rider, stick at or below the limit posted.
