Solved my prob today......newer cover (05 and up) has the clearance needed, also if the small web in the centre is removed it'll make the room with the stock cover too

Battery is prob pooched....should be trickle charged and if problem is still there get it tested, Canadian tire will do it for free if ur low on cash. I had a similar prob with my lights and gauge cluster.....it was the connector for the front harness, it is on the right side below the air tube...

Wondering if anyone has installed a factory slipper clutch in an earlier model? I have a 2001 gsxr 1000......I swapped the stock clutch with a newer slipper clutch,install went well however I'm having a little clearance issue with the rod adjuster and the cover. Not sure if a newer engine case...
