If 2 weeks gives you enough time to get down there and spend a couple of days riding in Hill Country then go for it. The Texas landscape is something different and worthwhile to see. I'll PM you some info.
Alternately, if 2 weeks isn't enough time to make the trek you may want to look into...
Get insurance first. Then just get a friend to ride it back for you - it's not a great distance. I would just slap on a plate from another bike. The odds of getting pulled over, or even having your plate run, in that short distance is very unlikely.
What an ignorant statement.
Yeah, once you hit 50 years old and you ride a cruiser you no longer enjoy curvy roads.
Sometimes it's better just to keep your mouth shut than to come off looking like an idiot.
I think you should mention that 129 has a long stretch of gravel road on the south end. This may be fine for your ADV guys but those on cruisers may opt not to have to endure that much gravel.
I was in Texas on business a couple of months ago and rented a Harley. Only had time to do one of the sisters. Awesome road with lots of restaurants geared towards bikers.
It would take less than a day to ride all 3 sisters and you probably would only need 2 or 3 nights in Hill Country to see...
You're an ironman for doing all the distance in one day on a Heritage!
I've been wanting to do one of these long trips in a while but the thought of slabbing it on a vrod was not something I wanted to do. I'm picking up an FLHX next year and look forward to some long distance rides.
Wow, what a cool trip. Definitely something I would like to do in the near future.
You covered a lot of ground the first few days. How often were you stopping?
It sounds like his level of adventure wasn't the same as yours. Still, he could have handled it more maturely instead of being a ***** about it.
I'm at Day 16. Great write-up and really nice pics! I'll check out your Cali trip next since that's one I've always dreamed of doing.
Up for sale is my GoPro HD Hero 1080p Camera that I purchased from Best Buy in May. The unit I purchased wasn't functioning properly so I sent it to GoPro who acknowledged a problem and decided to send me a brand new fully tested unit.
Here's the email from GoPro:

Up for sale is a very lightly used Cycleshell Motorcycle Enclosure that I purchased in April and started using in May. This portable enclosure fully seals your motorcycle away from the elements. While this is intended to be used in the open I had mine under a carport so it is in new condition.

Re: Highway 9 again...
Very tragic and scary since this could have happened to anybody. All it takes is one person not paying attention and crossing into the oncoming lane. :(
If you're headed into the Muskoka's why not skip the 507 an go Rosseau through Huntsville and then around the Lake of Bays.
I, personally, hate coming home through Peterborough 115 to 401 so I'd probably 35 down through Coboconk/Balsam and then 48.
