Stone Mountain is only interesting for people who don't leave the city - I wouldn't waste my time as you'll see way better mountains on your rides.
I modified your 2nd route slightly to near the top end - https://goo.gl/maps/U3zDC2Tkvr92
I just rode part of that route last weekend and it's a...
I live in Georgia and have ridden throughout the area extensively for the past 2 1/2 years that I've been here. I only took a quick look at your maps but here's what you should consider:
- Route 1 has too much Interstate where you will run into traffic - stay off I85 and I20....actually, stay...
Just saw this now...
I would boogie down to Maggie Valley for a night or two then stay in Robbinsville. Two Wheel Inn is cheap (around $65 or so) and VERY clean. Can't comment on any other place since it's the only place I've stayed at in the area.
I used to do this trip, to the Smoky's, every year when I lived in Ontario. Now I live down here and ride these roads all the time.
Lots of good routes down here. 220 and 219 are good places to start. I'm not a fan of the BRP as I found it boring. I like to roll through small towns so I stay...
The main reason for moving down here was for the weather and riding roads. Now I'm only 2 1/2 hours from the Dragon.
It's already mid-high '80s here. A bit cooler in the mountains though of course.
I just got back from a trip to the Ozarks. Not sure the route you're taking but you should be fine from a "flood" perspective. Lots of flooded areas off the Interstate but we only ran into one closure well south of Hot Springs on 7.
We didn't spend a ton of time there due to an unexpected bike...
I've done trips to the same area the last couple of years and am leaving next Friday again for the Smokey's.
Last year, the plan was to take the Blue Ridge down but it got boring for me very quickly. Very repetitive with the same lookouts one after another. Plus, I prefer back roads that roll...
Ireally can't explain it. It's not about going fast for everyone. It's just about being on two wheels. If you're completely disinterested in cruisers thenyou're not there yet and perhaps you never will be. Nothing wrong with that. Ifwe all liked the same thing we would all own the same bike...
That's one way of looking at it. Another is that HD has had a such a large influence on the US that their Government is concerned enough to step in and help them in a time of crisis. They mean as much to the US economy as GM. That's saying something.
They may not have the best bikes on the...
There's a Harley saying that goes "If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand". The majority of younger riders in Canada (in the States many grow up wanting a Harley) will never get it if all they want to do is go fast and carve corners because Harley's are obviously not built for that. Once...
No more so than sportbike riders are a already a stereotype. Bright multi-coloured helmet, flashy Power Ranger outfit complete with racing boots like they're doing laps on the track. Some even sport a mohawk on their helmet when they feel like drawing more attention to themselves.
Not sure what...
CafeRay, you are an idiot. You obviously hate HD, which is fine, but you're points on arguing have ZERO basis at all. Stop debating on a topic you clearly know nothing about.
You keep claiming that HD is losing their "blue collar" customers because of the bad economy. Blue collar manufacturing...
