I wonder why they wouldn't stick the 300 into it. If I had seen that when I was looking for my first bike I still would have gone with the Ninja 300. The extra 50cc makes a difference on these small bikes.
Put the 300 in it and I would have bought it in a heartbeat

Since you're a new rider your rates will be higher. I've had my m2 for a year now and I'm 22. I'm riding a 2016 FZ-09 and paying 1900 / yr without collision at State Farm. They were the best priced around for me. Once you get a year under your belt it will come down.

I had state Farm last year with my M1. Actually I got insurance with them the day I got my M1. I paid 1600 / yr for my 2014 ninja 300. Now I'm paying 1900 with them on my 2016 FZ-09. Same coverage. 1 mill liability, 1000 ded. For comp, no collision.

I guess you decided to sell. It's kind of misleading to say that your reason for selling was that you got financing on a new bike..don't you think?

My 2014 Ninja 300 would hit 400 kms on a tank. 17L tank. Fuelly average of 4.0 L/100 kms.
2015 Honda CBR600RR would do about 330 kms. 17 L tank. Fuelly average of 4.8 L/100 kms.
2016 Yamaha FZ-09 can do 300, but that's stretching it and going pretty easy. Touring riding I can achieve that...
That's a 15 though, you'll need to account for depreciation since we're already half way through the 2016 model year. If you were to turn around and sell it next year, what would it be worth compared to a 16? About $1000 less, which is what you're saving by buying a leftover.

I haven't kept my bikes long enough to rack kms up lol. 3000 on my 2014 Ninja 300 when I sold it, 4000 on my 2015 CBR600RR when I sold it, and 5500 kms on my current 2016 FZ-09 that I bought new in May. I plan to rack the kms up on this one though! Finally found the perfect bike for me!

Snowcat (YouTube motovlogger) just rode his new 1290r down to California from Calgary. Maybe check out his videos, I haven't seen his recent 2, so I'm not sure if he says anything about how the bike was to ride down there.
I rode my 2016 FZ-09 on a 4500 km trip through the Atlantic Provinces...
That seems like a good deal. I paid 10,100 out the door for my 2016 FZ-09. You'll love the comfort! I came from a 2015 Honda CBR600RR, and there was a huge difference. The FZ is way quicker, and way more comfortable!

I had a 2008 WR 250 X and loved it! I only used it offroad though, and had to put aggressive tires on it to replace the street tires.

I've only ever run premium, and only ever will run premium in my bikes. For the miniscule price difference, why wouldn't you?

Lol I've been playing musical bikes! First I bought the Ninja 300 last March. Then I bought the CBR last August. Purchased the FZ in May of this year, just sold the CBR last week. Down to one bike again!

When I was 21 (last year) I paid 1600/ yr for my Ninja 300. Now at 22 with my M2 I'm 1900/yr for my FZ-09. Both through State Farm with no collision.

I played into a scam a couple months ago when selling my truck. I knew what it was from the get go, as I've sold a lot of stuff online. After about 40 emails back and forth I toll them to f*** off lol.
I managed to get them from my ad price of 50,000 CAD up to 130,000 US! Haha
Then I told them...
Thanks! I wanted to buy a better seat for the trip, but I can't get one in time unfortunately!
I'm also going to order a windshield today!

Haha thanks!
Yeah finally I don't have to worry about not putting my body weight on the bars and killing my wrists! Lol, it's so relaxing!

I just bought a 2016 FZ 09 from VOS Motors. Great guys to deal with. I bought it Thursday and picked it up Friday!
I bought it to be more comfortable on long rides. I'm actually going on a 3500 km ride next Friday, so I bought the bike for that trip. I much prefer the FZ 09 to my 2015...
