Guys, admit it - it's a either a two-bike or two-sets-of-wheels life...there's no such thing as one bike or one tire that does it all. Nam learned that this past season :)
I don't actually think that the 21 from the dual sport drz will fit into your bike as the forks are different. Supernam runs continental tkc80 tires in 17/17 on his Honda. Kenda and Shinko also produce aggressive knobbliest in 17". It is what it is - get what you can and just ride.
Welcome! Put some bad-boy knobblies on that DRZ (even though you'll be limited to what you can get in 17/17) and come out to hit the trails! It's been a mild winter so far but I haven't ridden since Xmas eve. Keep an eye on this dual sport section of the forum for rides, both mild and wild but...
Thanks boyoboy - at the moment, I am assessing the current options available:
1- 2013 CRF110 - very clean and low use for a good price
2- 2014 Oset 20 - very clean for a decent price
3- I'm off to the Toronto bike show today to see if anyone has anything for a great deal
4- I'm constantly...
I've got twin nine year old boys - only one of them is interested in riding (after both doing a full day at Trail Tours on CRF70s). The other one claims he wasn't "entertained by it", prefers his damn video games...
anyhow, I found an Oset 20 that I'm seriously considering instead of a...
The rally navigation, ICO and switches aren't actually that big of a deal and I've got a rally style fairing and headstock setup ready for those pieces. Also, Acerbis makes a 27 litre fuel tank that bolts right on. Apart from that, I've already got additional oil capacity and cooling, additional...
Re: GTA area dirt / gravel riding routes and tracks plus GPX viewer links
As for the Baja, I'm 46 and out of shape but I'm strong and I can handle hot weather well. My 530 EXC is not stock, lots of goodies and well equipped for this type of riding but I still need some of the rally navigation...
Re: GTA area dirt / gravel riding routes and tracks plus GPX viewer links
I believe that when you download the route files, you simply use Garmin Express or Basecamp to move them onto your GPS device and when you do that, all POIs, pictures, etc should transfer automatically. Depending on the...
Yesterday was an amazing day despite the strong and cold winds - riding on Xmas eve in double digit temps and not a single sign of snow anywhere? That was a once-in-a-lifetime :)
Trail conditions are spectacular, not nearly as treacherous as one would think for this time of year. If this...
Yeah, I took him into a dealership and had him sit on and stand over a few bikes - this batch of 110s they're making fit him well. He needs something with a 24" to 25" seat height...
One of my twin nine year old boys is ready for his first dirt bike (other kid wants to go-kart or buggy, he prefers four wheels), seems like a 110 is the right size for him. I've posted a wanted ad but also thought that I'd post it here in case anyone has something that their own kids have now...
I'm looking to get a CRF110, TTR110, DRZ110, KLX110 or similar, he's now to big for any of the 70s and I need something with semi-auto gearing at this point. I'm in Toronto - would love to find one this / next week. Please let me know what you have VIA EMAIL at alongat.gat@gmail.com
I don't...
Re: GTA area dirt / gravel riding routes and tracks plus GPX viewer links
For the round Algonquin park, yes - there's a gnarly path around that I want to take and I'm afraid your lack of ground clearance will be really bad. You've got time between now and then to buy a dual sport :)
By the...
Having said all that, I will also add that an Algonquin RAP trip is definitely interesting to me (Round Algonquin Park) - also fairly well mapped and documented ride that offers about 1400km of off road and gravel riding all the way around the massive and beautiful Algonquin Park. The snowmobile...
I haven't done the east to west but I'm planning to do the Ontario section this coming summer with some modifications for more dirt in certain places. I need to figure out logistics though because I'll be riding the little bike and can't ride all the way to the eastern part of Ontario and then...
