Hey there, was wondering what happened and if anything ever came of your idea. Yes, I'm very lucky that my injuries weren't worse and that I've healed so well - not too shabby for an old guy:)
you interested in doing some big bike rides this coming season?
I broke my ankle and tore a ligament on November 04 (on my big bike) and had surgery two weeks later and gained a few grams of precious stainless steel and titanium in my ankle. As it stood, I was supposed to be stuck in a cast and crutches with zero weight on my left leg until mid to end of...
I've got a lot of gear I want to sell as I'm not riding road bikes anymore so I might as well free up space and funds for more dirt oriented toys and gear...For reference, I am 6'3" and 225 pounds, long legged, big footed and large handed - and all of the following fits me.
1- boots: SOLD
2-...
Id be interested in a weekday ride for this next week one day - I can trailer us out there and back. If others aren't interested, does anyone have the GPX file?
This coming weekend is not doable for me, anniversary on Saturday and my wife has booked us to be away for the weekend...plus for others it's either the Calabogie Boogy or the Orange Crush.
I'd be interested as well depending on when - just need to properly plan it as I'd be coming from Toronto to meet up with you guys and if the start and end are at the same place then I'll bring my little bike and trailer it out. I'll keep an eye on this thread - haven't ridden anything in...
Dont run out on a crazy one day shopping spree at one place. The season is upon us and I'm sure you're eager to get everything but your best bet is to connect with a group of people and see what they're using and what would work for you. Many of us have good contacts for discounted pricing on...
Re: Bethany 2016 Roll Call - Sunday April 17
Sounds tempting but I'll probably just use my bike hitch so I can drive back home half a sleep and all banged up from the day :)
Dual sport means drive to the trail, ride the trails, drive home :)
I'm 6'3" and 225 pounds - don't be afraid of getting a small bike. As others here have mentioned, you'll need some spring upgrades regardless of which bike you end up with. Spring upgrades are hundreds of dollars, not thousands.
Decide first whether or not you want a green plate or blue plate bike - will you need to ride it on the street or gravel to get to and from trails or are you going to haul it to mx tracks and specific wooded trails?
We don't care how old or young you are, it's all the same and we are all interested in the same thing. There's a thread we've got going here that mentions the whatsapp group and we have two threads: one strictly for posting rides (ad hoc either during the week or weekend rides, day rides, longer...
Re: Bethany 2016 Roll Call - Sunday April 17
Comparatively dry ride this year? I'll believe it when I see it - rode so,e of the tracks there from last year's ride two weeks ago on a 12 degree day and the trail conditions were terrible unless ice and deeply rutted mud is what you like. Despite...
