Thank you for your help at Forks of the Credit today!

Well thanks, Matthew. I'm fine :) It was actually not that busy, when I was there. The 'lesson' I learned was to be aware of cars coming down the hill; they may turn left into the car park area.

Thank you for your help at Forks of the Credit today!

Just want to acknowledge and give thanks to the rider (a young man) who helped me get my motorcycle back up today. My bike went over going back up through the hairpin turn at the Forks of the Credit. For those of you who know this section of road, a car was coming down the hill and instead of...

Honda CBR 125 or something with more.........

Based on what you indicated about your size, I think you've made a wise decision. (I have a blue 2003 Kawasaki 250 zzr for sale. PM me, if interested). Good luck with your search.

Honda CBR 125 or something with more.........

Seriously? Why do they make varieties of any product? You got tired of the 125 "within a week". There are many people who ride a 125 for years. When all is said and done, the 125 is still a great motorcycle. It comes down to personal choice and the type of riding a person will be doing.

Honda CBR 125 or something with more.........

The 125 is a great motorcycle! I owned one for two seasons before upgrading to a 250, only because I felt ready to. I think the 250 would be a better fit for you.

    Not a fact; an opinion.

    I Saw You: V.2.0

I absolutely agree with you, Rocker. I understand and and respect that it's personal choice to ride a black bike; wear all black. However, at night, reflective gear should be a must, imho.

The One Thing Im Having Trouble with

To be honest, I really don't know what I was afraid of. This was in 2009. On reflection, I think it may have been not really understanding how a motorcycle works? Please remember, before taking the course, i had never been on a motorcycle; certainly knew nothing about 'brake lock' :) I...

Very true, Harvey. btw, I got over my fear of downshifting lol

The One Thing Im Having Trouble with

I absolutely disagree. Sure, the basics are taught in a *weekend* course. But one still has to practice, practice, practice! Confession. I took the course (August, 2009). I had *never* been on a motorcycle before. I was so afraid to downshift, that I didn't. When I had to slow down, I...

The One Thing Im Having Trouble with

Very decent of you, Peterm15! That's what this community should be about. Not bashing someone because they haven't mastered the 'basics'.

The One Thing Im Having Trouble with

OP, we've all been a new rider at some point. Yes, some people take to it more naturally than others. That is to be expected; we are all different. When I first started riding, stalling would bring me to tears and caused much frustration. Never thought I would get it. My advice, ignore the...

Buying A New Motorcycle - Not enough time to ride?

Well, aren't you just a super human being? :) I suppose we should all strive to be just like you then. You claim to 'respect' the responsibilities that comes with having children. That's admirable. But how about respecting the fact that we are all different (rhetorical).

Buying A New Motorcycle - Not enough time to ride?

DemonPig. My question about having children was not directed to the OP, Demon. It was directed to you. You asked to be corrected if you're 'wrong'. I think you are. A person may *think* they know that having a child is time-consuming, but until it becomes a reality, it's a whole new ball...

Buying A New Motorcycle - Not enough time to ride?

You are absolutely right; choosing not to ride doesn't always have to be about the kids. We are all different; living different lives and experiences. That's a fact and a reality. The bottom line, ride when/if you can. And respect the differences of others :)

Buying A New Motorcycle - Not enough time to ride?

Thank you. I wanted to say something along the lines of what you said above. Reminds me of the song 'Cat's in the Cradle'.

Buying A New Motorcycle - Not enough time to ride?

Do you have children? Children that actually live with you 24/7? Sure, it's easy to say "you'll find time". And if, as a full-time, working mother, I feel the "outside pressure" to spend time with my child instead of riding, well, that's my choice. My children are my priority. Do I feel a...

Looking for someone willing and able to come to residence to do safety.

Thanks GateKeeper. And I absolutely agree; "another gubment cash grab" :( Oh well. I will take it to CT (Upper Gage & Fennell); a 5 min. drive from my home :) On another note, I had someone (a motorcycle mechanic apprentice; a nice young man) come to my home yesterday to do a minor repair on my...

Looking for someone willing and able to come to residence to do safety.

GateKeeper. Thank you for hijacking this thread. And no, I'm not being facetious :) What you said was very interesting and a good read. Personally, I think it comes down to money. For what's involved in doing a 'safety', it's a shame what we pay.
