Anyone have any experience dropping a bike off on the US side of the border and having it shipped within the US for a vacation? Figured there would be less customs hassles to deal with this way, and likely cheaper. I'm 45 minutes from Niagara Falls, NY so I could just ride it down to drop it...
300 Euros = $408 CDN at today's exchange rate. Not sure about shipping from Germany tho.
$420 USD or CDN? Current price on Revzilla (not on sale) is $407 USD = $508 CDN
Cool, looks like something out of Star Wars :)
I see they advertise 'easy fit' for glasses wearers which is appealing to me. Anyone know any places west of GTA (Hamilton area) that carry the Evoline S3?
Pretty good prices. C3 is 20% off at RevZilla right now for $500USD but by the time you factor in exchange and HST at the border, driving down to Niagara Falls to pick it up at Kinek - not really worth it. Hopefully they'll have similar deals at the Spring Show this weekend.
How much was the Schuberth at the show (roughly) do you remember? I'm interested in picking up a modular this season.
I haven't been able to find any dealers for Nolan in Canada online and the US online retailers seem to be clearing out stock with no availability. Can you suggest one? Would be...
2014 is the last year for the Fazer8 on the Yamaha Canada web page, there is no 2015 apparently.
I too was turned off by the rakish ADV looks of the FJ-09. I'll stick with my BMW F800GT which I find to be a capable machine for my sport touring needs. Cruise control would be nice though :P
I went Friday evening, really enjoyed the show. Was looking at bike's to eventually replace my wife's CBR250 assuming she ever gets off her butt and starts riding. Lots of nice bike's coming out that will be a good next step up.
Scrambler seems like it will be a big hit, I wouldn't mind...
Anyone know a 'promo code' for discounted tickets online? Apparently I missed the 'advance sale' price and I'm nowhere near any of the dealers selling discount tickets.
No work was done over the summer, I believe they started in November. It was supposed to be done by January 1st, however I just checked the City of Burlington site and they posted a note in Dec saying the bridge will re-open Jan 23rd (just in time for riding season! or not...)...
I was thinking you could possibly save time by getting off at the last exit before the bridge and then hopping back on (and right into the Nexus lane). Looks like that is Exit 25A (NY265 / Military Rd).
But it might be too late at that point on a really busy day? I don't know. Looks like the...
Appears this was a one time thing and only available to participants in the 'IncentiveWorks' trade show back in August.

Anyway, I got my Nexus pass last week. It was a few days after my Labour Day weekend trip to PA, doh...
10 minutes? The poor engine doesn't even have time to warm up! Not sure what kinda roads you are taking for your commute, but unless its a 400 series highway you'd probably be better served (wallet and health) by riding a bicycle or walking.
I started out with a Scarabeo 200 myself, it is a...
Another benefit apparently is when connecting through the US flying home from abroad you can use the Global Entry kiosks. Could save you hours if you miss a tight connection. I've never had an issue once they learn you are a Canadian in transit you are pretty much waived through, but you still...
If you are riding with a group of bikes and you have Nexus and they don't can you go through the Nexus line and wait for them on the other side?
I know dropping off your non-Nexus passenger to walk across (car or bike) is a big no-no but not sure about the above. Don't see why it would be a...
Agreed, price is pretty steep. I paid $5300 all-in for my XU. Would not have paid list price, waited for a sale.
Was purchased at Oakville Yamaha. They still sell the current models.
Peanuts. Actually I believe it around $200 a year. They asked me what the equivalent was in cc and I said it was like a 150. I think I'm paying less than I do for the wife's CBR250.
Sadly, they don't make the XU model anymore. The FX has replaced it. Specs are similar... but not quite.
My 2012...
I'm already riding electric. Picked up a 2012 Zero XU (Urban Crosser) in spring of 2013. Use it to commute to work daily (round trip 40km) with no range anxiety. I can plug it in at work for an hour or two if I need to make a side trip. Have done about 5000km to date.
Still have my gas bike for...
I meant to post back to the thread earlier. It is closed as of the afternoon of July 10th, with concrete barriers going up in the past couple of days. Last week they were just wooden barriers easily moved. One morning last week I went by and someone had clearly moved them to get their car...
