On my Kawi for some reason when I shift to 2nd it drops down to neutral after a few seconds. Doesn't happen often but it always scares the **** out of me. Probably my fault too.

What is it Idling at when you put it in neutral? When you say it happens when you put it into first do you mean when you try to start moving or when you shift? Silly question but is your kickstand down when you put it in first?

I basically want it similar to how it is in that picture above(the two circle pads), only less ugly/conspicuous and maybe a bit wider because when it gets cold and I put on more layers then the headphones wont necessarily reach where those pads are right now.

Like I said I'm asocial, I tend to not want people to know I even exist for the most part. Seriously I went to one of those meetups last year and while it was nice to see a ton of nice bikes, I felt uncomfortable as hell.

From the descriptions WoblyCat gave it doesn't sound like a cage driver didn't notice issue and more like a cage driver didn't look issue.

That's why I put my alarm remote on my key ring I always turn the alarm on and I have to take the keys to do that.
