    Battery for Ninja 250 (99')

    Looking to buy a new battery for the Ninja that I just bought. Having trouble locating the original battery (X7L-BS) for a reasonable price and so I'm just wondering if anyone else has had experience with other batteries and could point me in the right direction, or if anyone has any suggestions...

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    Saftied at the beginning of last year but never put on the road because of an injury, I've looked at it pretty thoroughly with some friends though and we're pretty confident it'll safety with no issues. Bought a helmet but I'm still looking for jacket, gloves and boots that will be good for the...

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    Little update: I bought a 1999 Ninja 250, $900 and the dude delivered it to me which was nice because I didn't have to rent a trailer. Thanks for all the help guys.

    Ready to ride---------->

    Was planning on investing in a decent amount of those hand warmers and putting a few in my jacket, too. I have a lot of quality winter clothes for layering too so that'll help. Good to hear about the free retest at RTI though.

    Ready to ride---------->

    Yeah I've been planning on buying and have already purchased some winter gear, and I've been snowboarding for years so I have a some experience staying warm. I could probably reschedule if I wanted to but I don't think I'm going to. It's RTI and from what I've heard they allow a retest, not sure...

    Ready to ride---------->

    I booked the motorcycle training course for the first weekend in April, hope it's a bit warmer by then but all things considered I just want to ride (don't have my own bike yet). Looking forward to it even if it's chilly.

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    I'm in Burlington, would like to pay around $1500 but any less would be a blessing (not a lot of money to work with so yet another reason why project bike is a bad idea). Hamilton would be the nearest bike I've looked at so far, to be honest.

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    TK4 - messaged you with the kijiji link. And yeah, a project bike for my first bike is definitely not a good idea.. If I had a friend or something who knew a lot about motorcycles it would be different, but unfortunately not. Looking for something newer and in better condition for sure.

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    I also found this ad: http://www.kijiji.ca/v-sport-bikes/london/2003-kawasaki-ninja-250/1213774497?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true $1100 for a 2003 with 45000km on it. I asked if the bike needed anything for safety and he said no and that the brakes and tires are good. Glad that I posted...

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    That bike looks great Ice, thanks for pointing it out. Wouldn't blame you at all Rice if you picked it up for your kid, haha. As for the 89, I told him that basically it's sketching me out that he wouldn't be open to having it safetied before I gave him the cash, and he responded with "if...

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    Thanks for the comments on the wrench work required for these older bikes, I'm not hopeless mechanically but I'll keep it in mind. I think it's going to come down to whether or not the seller is willing to come with me to have it safetied, because that's really the only red flag in my mind about...

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    Apparently because it isn't riding weather yet. He has a safety certificate from 2016 but it's obviously outside the 30 day window and doesn't reassure me at all that something hasn't happened to the bike recently. Thanks for the input on the tires, too

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    I'm definitely going to try to get the bike for cheaper, I hope to knock at least $200 off the price when I get there to see the bike. You're right about it being the winter though. The seller offered to write that it's pending safety on our reciept, and said that if for some reason it doesn't...

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    Thanks for all the replies, because the owner doesn't seem too open to the idea of getting it safetied prior to me buying it, I think I'm going to look at some other bikes. I'll still probably be buying old though so I'll definitely make sure to see the safety before I buy any bike.

    Is it important to make sure bike is safetied just prior to buying it?

    I'm looking to purchase an 89 ex250-f from a seller on Kijiji for $1000, and asked if it was safetied/offered to pay to have him go and safety it. He said "It passes safety, it's still licensed and insured." I've never bought a motorcycle, am I required to have it safetied when I try to insure...
