Best route for a ride from Yonge and Lawrence

Just decent ride within reasonable distance/time of the city. Snuck a pic out near Hockely today parked next to a group of harleys.

Best route for a ride from Yonge and Lawrence

Yah I need to get East, just don't have the familiarity with it to know which roads/routes but I imagine once I get used to that area it will be my go to. Any tips?

Best route for a ride from Yonge and Lawrence

Did a 2-3 hour loop today - 401 to the 400 north, across 9 to Hockley, then down 10 to Forks, 410 to 401 and back home. Not so bad really.

If I were you I'd look at the Ninja 1000 - faired version of the Z1000 essentially, test rode one when it first came out and loved it - great riding position with protection and hard luggage option.

Just a month or so into riding my new Bonneville after coming from a Ninja 650 - big difference on the highway in the early season, feels like I'm getting beat up in the cold/wind, finally getting these nice days feels like pure bliss. I'm thinking it will take time to "forget" how cushy my 650...

Best route for a ride from Yonge and Lawrence

Yah I'm realizing the only reasonably fast way "out" is north probably, of course time of day has a huge impact. Guess really I just need to adjust my riding, enjoy the commute, learn to love putting around the city, and cherish the times I do get out and off of the slab.

Best route for a ride from Yonge and Lawrence

Sorry if this has been asked a million times but I'm struggling after a move from Guelph - in Guelph you can hit a nice country road in any direction within minutes, can string together a nice route of Speyside backraods, hockley, Forks, etc all in a loop/fairly short time frame. So far here I...

When are you taking your bikes out?

Commuted on her today ~30 mins each way on the 401. Ride in at 9am was chilly but tolerable with proper gear (nothing heated), ride home at 7:30pm still OK in spite of light rain - neither ideal lol. Also made me rethink the decision to sell my Ninja

When are you taking your bikes out?

+1. My Alter Ego 2.0 is definitely my go to in winter weather and I have a thick/poorly vented Nexo leather as well. The thing about the Alter Ego is the windproof/rainproof liner actually does cut all of the wind, this is a fabulous jacket for all seasons as you say - I'm selling my blue...

    Two very different bikes...

Alternatively why not one of the Triumph cruisers? I don't think you're nuts though, I had kinda lost my passion for riding with my current bikes and lost that longing to ride which lead to very little saddle time the last couple years. The 650 was a very practical bike that I had set up...

When are you taking your bikes out?

Yah wiped her down with Meguiar's Gold Class Quick Detailer after the ride, season's too short in these parts to wait for ideal conditions.

When are you taking your bikes out?

Got out for my first real ride on my new to me Bonneville, just around the city and down to Town Moto, nice enough out there and no real concerns on the major roads today - saw a few bikes out there (Thruxton, Monster, Ducati Hypermotard, Ninja 650).
