Yah I need to get East, just don't have the familiarity with it to know which roads/routes but I imagine once I get used to that area it will be my go to. Any tips?
If I were you I'd look at the Ninja 1000 - faired version of the Z1000 essentially, test rode one when it first came out and loved it - great riding position with protection and hard luggage option.
Just a month or so into riding my new Bonneville after coming from a Ninja 650 - big difference on the highway in the early season, feels like I'm getting beat up in the cold/wind, finally getting these nice days feels like pure bliss. I'm thinking it will take time to "forget" how cushy my 650...
Yah I'm realizing the only reasonably fast way "out" is north probably, of course time of day has a huge impact. Guess really I just need to adjust my riding, enjoy the commute, learn to love putting around the city, and cherish the times I do get out and off of the slab.
Sorry if this has been asked a million times but I'm struggling after a move from Guelph - in Guelph you can hit a nice country road in any direction within minutes, can string together a nice route of Speyside backraods, hockley, Forks, etc all in a loop/fairly short time frame. So far here I...
Commuted on her today ~30 mins each way on the 401. Ride in at 9am was chilly but tolerable with proper gear (nothing heated), ride home at 7:30pm still OK in spite of light rain - neither ideal lol. Also made me rethink the decision to sell my Ninja
+1. My Alter Ego 2.0 is definitely my go to in winter weather and I have a thick/poorly vented Nexo leather as well. The thing about the Alter Ego is the windproof/rainproof liner actually does cut all of the wind, this is a fabulous jacket for all seasons as you say - I'm selling my blue...
Alternatively why not one of the Triumph cruisers?
I don't think you're nuts though, I had kinda lost my passion for riding with my current bikes and lost that longing to ride which lead to very little saddle time the last couple years. The 650 was a very practical bike that I had set up...
Got out for my first real ride on my new to me Bonneville, just around the city and down to Town Moto, nice enough out there and no real concerns on the major roads today - saw a few bikes out there (Thruxton, Monster, Ducati Hypermotard, Ninja 650).
Joe Rocket Alter Ego 2.0 Jacket - Sz Large $140 - Lowered to $100!
Selling my like new Joe Rocket Alter Ego 2.0 Jacket, sz large. This is a year round jacket that is great for touring but looks good on any bike. The jacket has removable arm and back panels to convert to a mesh jacket in hot...
CE rated back protector to be worn under jacket. Unsure of the brand, marked as XXL but fits me perfectly (6"1" height, waist band has large range of adjustment so will fit all body types). New/never used. Perfect for trackdays or just being safer on the street.
