Road Racing World magazine had a brief test of the track version of the KTM RC390 and raved about it. According to the test in RRW, KTM detuned the track version for a better spread of power. I asked a KTM dirt bike dealer about getting one just last week. He didn't have any info on them coming...
Sorry that I left before you got back. Bob T and I hung around till 530 or so so we could help you load up but you didn't get back and I had a dog to rescue from the kennel before closing. Hope you are ok. parillaguy
Hmmmmm...exhaust gas is about 1200 F degree and your pipe broke off right under the engine and next to your brake peddle. Sounds to me like you will be feeling some heat on your foot (skip the sandals ;) ) for your next ride. Make sure your engine oil doesn't overheat from the hot exhaust gases...
Please be aware that the SNELL year code is the test standard. Every 5 years Snell can change the test standards. So a helmet with a SNELL 95 approval sticker could have been made as early as spring 1995 or as late as the spring of 2010. Snell 2010 helmets would have started to hit the market...
Just watched the CBR250 race. Very entertaining. BUT....Please correct me if I am wrong but it looks like alot of unprotected cement walls (still) at this track. It is inexcusable in 2014 that Canadian racing still goes to tracks with cement walls up close to the track and doesn't deploy air...
Grey Market import V4 sport bike. 19888/89 model. Single sided swing arm (like a mini - RC30). Asking $2100.00 ( a real RC30 will cost you $21,000.00 if you can find one). This bike will need some work before it is roadworthy. Stuff like new tires, fork seals, carb cleanout and a new battery...
I use a removable clip master link on my 80 HP race bike and have done so at Daytona with no chain issues. So a clip masterlink isn't only for little dirt bikes! If you never change sprockets then a rivetted master link does make sense. I also suggest that any chain will stretch once it has been...
I was skeptical about having to watch the Daytona 200 on the internet and disappointed in Speed TV or whatever they will be calling Fox Sports. However, the broadcast on FANSCHOICE was really well done. Just imagine the entire 200 without Speed's idiotic commercial s for "Pinks all out" or "who...
Turning my 2011 CBR250 into a road race bike :D. I have a package of the stock bodywork and exhaust available. Plastic body panels, seat/tail panel, lights and the full exhaust. Make an offer on the package. parilla@nonline.net

I am really impressed that with the excpetion of the May date, there are no conflicts with SOAR race dates. Sounds like the two organizations might be working together. That would be good news to us club racers.

Letchworth park is worth riding from top to bottom. The speed limit is pretty low but the scenery is really nice (Blue Ridge Parkway nice!). The Curtiss museum is great with both planes and motorcycles. It is on the road from Bath NY to Hammondsport. Worth stopping. Try the Mexican restaurant...
I have raced at both tracks and each has it's good points. Traffic on the weekends to Shannonville and back should be a bit better now that summer is over :-(
Just remember that SOAR at Grand Bend does an endurance race on Saturday afternoon that can be a bit boring for spectators. The up side...
Many years ago I was in that same area and found one of those really tight turns. I knew the speed I was going was too fast to make the turn so I straightened up and went up the driveway of the house on the curve. Stopped in time and still had some room to turn around. A bit embarrasing but at...
The last two seasons SOAR has not had digital timing so lap times would be done by either a personal AIM beacon, GPS timer on a bike or by stop watch. That is why I can say that I hold the lap record for last year in my class :-)

PS some of the riders in the Femme Class would easily...
SOAR at GB on the 'screaming alien' configuration. Looking forward to a weekend when the clouds didn't turn ugly grey and make me take out my rain tires!
