Hi; I will be back at grand bend with SOAR with my KTM RC390 and CBR 250 endurance bike. Bringing out two more lightweight riders too. I love s'ville but hate the trip thru the GTA so just doing one track this year. This will be year 35 racing. Brian and his FZR are still youngsters. Parillaguy
While there are a few SOAR racers who do tent it, you will be better off in something off the ground if it rains or is windy. Instead of spending your $$ on buying an enclosed trlr why not just rent an enclosed trlr or van for the weekends you will be racing? It will be money you could use...
Brand new in the box never used Power Commander for Honda CBR250R. Also fits CBR300. Retail is over 350.00 plus tax. Asking $250.00. If you have upgraded to a better air filter and a slip on muffler, you should have a "plug and go" power commander. Located Hamilton/Burlington. parilla@nonline.net
Brian; stop trying to get new bikes into the GTL Lightweight endurance race at SOAR. We want all the young fast guys to buy 600s and leave the GTL class to the old slow fat guys to win :agave:
So where are the 250s/300s/320s/390s that are for sale for a new rider can buy ready to race?
Other consideration is that we as riders can't continue to split entries between 3 series. I built a bike for the SOAR Lightweight production class at Grand Bend. No entries meant I left the...
Schedule is posted and entry forms on line (SOAR Site). I vote for cooler temps and no rain :). Screaming Alien configuration :love4: Now that the kids are back to school, maybe we can get to the beach after racing is over without a zillion cars in the way. parillaguy
I agree with Mr Bickle! While schools do a good job of preparing you to race, keep in mind they are in the business of selling you schooling. Track day operators are in the business of selling you more track day entries. Get your license and come to a race and ride. Talk to some of the riders in...
It is unfortunate that the Canadian news agencies, newspapers and TV completely ignore motorcycle racing. We hear endlessly about the stick and ball games and about crashes in NASCAR. Jordan Szoke wins the CSBK National Superbike Championship and even his local newspaper (Hamilton Spectator)...
We run Pirelli Rosso II tires on our Honda CBR250 Endurance Racing bike and they are awesome. They handle wet or dry at track speeds and wear very well. If you are going to ride on the track, consult with a vendor who sells tires to racers as they will be able to give you the best info. parillaguy
I have been putting in the time converting a KTM RC390 street bike into a road race bike. I think that very people appreciate how much time and energy has to go into converting a modern street bike into a road racer or track day weapon. Modern street bikes have compacted power units/fuel...
I am part of a SOAR Endurance racing team. We got second overall in class last year and are leading this season in points on a Honda CBR250. We find the bike to be very reliable and fun to race. We have raced with 250 Ninjas and they seem to be no faster on the track than our CBR. It really is...
The absolute best bike to start road racing with is the Honda CBR250. I don't care if you are riding a 600 or litre bike on the street now. On the CBR, you will learn more from riding a 250 class bike than mixing it up with the crazies in AM600.:confused4: 2011 CBR250 in ready to race trim. Add...
My RC390 is not yet ready to hit the track. The required bellypan just arrived today. While we had alot of initial interest from SOAR racers, so far the bikes have not yet come out. I expect to see a few this wknd and more at the July rounds. parillaguy
PS holy crap properly converting a street...
Actually you would be better to contact John Sharrard and/or Rob Egan. They can give you the current specs under consideration. If it is like previous national 'spec' series there will be restrictions (ie: bike must have a road title, no rebuilt right offs/wrecks/US bikes). Likely you will be...
Brian; glad you enjoyed the wknd...but 41 bikes on the grid for one race?? That is completely UNSAFE! and a serious accident waiting to happen. This is the reason I will not race with the VRRA. Parillaguy
