    1974 CB125 engine noise

It was parked due to front end damage. The forks were bent when I got it and it had numerous other issues, but not engine related. The strange thing is this noise hasnt heard when I first starting riding the bike about 100 miles ago. I have been flogging the engine though (190lb rider on 10HP...

Anyone got a spare clip for a 520 drive chain?

Get yourself a riveted master asap. I lost a chain on the Gardiner after my clip fell off. I thought I installed it badly so I had someone install my new chain with clip master and safety wire. A week or two later both the safety wire and clip went missing. The way I see it the clip links are...

    1974 CB125 engine noise

I will try replacing the cam chain first since I dont have to remove the head for that. Why would the clutch plates make slapping noises?

    1974 CB125 engine noise

I purchased chain on the assumption that since the bike has only 4600miles it was just the 38years in storage that stretched the chain, especially since its a small, single-link type so hopefully the guide is not worn. In this particular model, the chain tension is adjusted by deflecting the...

    1974 CB125 engine noise

I thought it was the cam chain as well due to the irregular 'slapping' sounds but Ive got the tensioner tightened past maximum in this vid (to the point where I wouldnt be able to lock it down with the locknut) but it still makes the same sound. Ive had the rotor off to get to the tensioner...

    Get your mopeds out!

What happened to this thread? People start posting pics of non-moped Kymco junk and now I'm looking at the gray power ranger's butt. Definition of moped (Ontario): <50cc, full time pedal footrests (unlike the e-bikes which have scooter-like platforms). Back in the 60 's and 70's mopeds were...

Huge difference in quotes on similar motorcycles

Since Ducs are more popular, historically there will be more claims made against them and insurance companies are careful to integrate the history of a brand and/or model into their premiums. They extrapolate, based on the history, future claims and cover that prediction with a higher premium. :)

Alternatively metal supermarkets can cut you a hex rod if you cant find sockets that size. I couldn't find a 25mm and got these guys to cut me a 24" length for $15 and held it with my sockets.

    Stretched/ovalized head tube

Let me elaborate on my quick-fix idear with the some visual aids. As I understand it, the idea with steering bearing races is that theyre a tight, friction fit so that theyre preloaded against the frame to efficiently transfer steering/braking/wheelie forces to the chassis. To this effect, the...

    Stretched/ovalized head tube

As much as I would like to implement a proper, longterm fix, it just isn't in the cards for this build. Theres too much to do as it already and I don't have the budget for all the fab and welding. What I was thinking was this: Years back I drive a forklift in a an old warehouse. Whenever the...
