on the way to parry sound

Take the "wrong" way and cut across 141. Great little restaurant at the north end of Lake Rosseau. And that road is fantastic.

Ninja 250R won't start even with a car jump

Sounds like a bad connection.... at the battery, or the main ground wire to the engine case. My bet is the engine case is painted where the ground connects, and when you are cranking you get a 3-5 V drop across the connection...

    Dead Man's dream cruiser

They were good bikes, ran kind of funny with one carb for both cylinders that never seemed to need the same amount of fuel. One always seems to run rich/lean. It's a battle once you put pipes on. Reliable and powerful though. I have kind of a soft spot for them even with the aforementioned "issues".

    Need Rejetting Advice

That will not be a big enough jump for the pilots. When trying to get the right jetting, always change one thing at a time. That way you know when you go wrong and where. Those things run notoriously lean in factory spec, and any pipe/air filter combination exacerbates the problems...

    2009 Yamaha VStar 650 Custom...fuel pump issues?

That is normal. Don't apologize, 10 other people had the same question and didn't ask.

what do you wear in summer?

Held Asuma Jacket and Malavi pants... most comfortable warm weather gear I have tried.

    Reccomended Bike Shops

Pretty sure that's what I was saying. Maybe it reads differently... Nope, read it again. I am actually saying the opposite of how you are reading it. Still have time to make your own decisions. I went to university first too. I doubt that the advances in technology will result in less...

    Reccomended Bike Shops

Nope, not a rough time. But to succeed and excel at anything it takes hard work and dedication. EVERY occupation takes hard work. A lot of apprentices and want-to-be apprentices forget that and you see it every year. That cavalier attitude (not to imply yours, just in general) is so common now...

    Reccomended Bike Shops

Ha. Good one. $50 / hour. Something to remember about most motorcycle technicians: they had to work long and hard to get where they are. They need to go to school for two 8 week sessions, for which they do not get paid. They have to travel, pay rent, feed themselves (and their families) all...

Bike cranks but will not catch and will not shift from first.

Backwards filter thing happens all the time. Some engines will keep going, some won't. Honda's (especially ATV's) are notorious for this, you can time the engine life span on a watch if you put the filter in backwards. Yamaha V-Stars with the cartridge filters (650's and 1100's) will have no...

Anyone have an M21 die I could borrow

If it's a Hyosung it's probably supposed to be a M22... but the tooling has traditionally been such crap you end up with an in-between size.

Zero Motorcycles Model S (Electric Motorcycles in Canada)

Designed to be a commuter/city bike. Not what I would describe as ideal for most of us weekend riders. My theory is: the savings in gas would pay for the other bike I had for the weekends.

Zero Motorcycles Model S (Electric Motorcycles in Canada)

I do. They redesigned the batteries for the 2013 models and they redesigned the motors. The company originally received some huge grants from the US government during development. They are based out of California, and all of the designs: battery, charging systems and motors are in house. Some of...

Zero Motorcycles Model S (Electric Motorcycles in Canada)

According to Zero, there is no battery degradation due to charging at any of the supported rates, including the CHAdeMO charging systems which allow the Zero batteries to be charged from 5% back to 100% in less than an hour.

    2005+ sv ecu?

Check the cam and crank sensors and wiring next. It sounds like the ignition timing is right out to lunch. I would look at the custom harness again.

    2005+ sv ecu?

Check that you have the ignition the right way. Ie cyl 1 ignition coil is actually going to cyl 1, and that the ignition signal is going to the proper coils.
