    Dynojet Kit any good?

And dynojet's numbers have no relation to the stock numbers. A 145 in one manufacturer is not the same as a 145 from another.

    Vacuum Gauge

Depends on how often you use it. Battery powered which is handy on boats where I can't reach/don't want to go to the battery(s). Waterproof, shock-proof, you can hold it upside down, flick of a switch to cycle back and forth between RPM and vacuum, 2-stroke to 4-stroke. 3 different scales of...

    Vacuum Gauge

Vacuumate. That way you can rent it out to everyone else too cheap to buy their own and recoup come of the cost. I bought one years ago and never looked back.

    New Yamaha MT-09 triple engine

Makes more power than the current model R6 and weighs less. Nicer seating position than the FZ8 and a lot more compact overall. I just hope they use this engine in a few more models, it'd be nice to see a full fairing version.

    Lemon Pledge On Your Bike??

Yup. Used it before. It works great. Not quite as good as Motul's Wash and Wax. But a good alternative.

02 Yamaha R1 very odd running/idling problem - video included!

I'll split the difference... idle sounds like only 3 cylinders, then when you are slapping the throttle it's dropping another one. I would guess air leak or fouled plug for the first part of the problem. You are probably due for a TB synch as well, which would definately contribute to the rough...

    Tinted/smoked visors at night?

My helmet has an internal snap-down visor. Best of both worlds. I don't think I would even consider a helmet without one now.. Multiple tint options for both visors internal and external, so you can mix and match to find the best combination for you.

800 km in one day on a 250 cruiser

If you run it dry again (and FYI).. the fuel petcock is vacuum operated in both "reserve" and "on" positions. What that means is: the pistons must be moving up and down for the fuel to flow. The "prime" position bypasses the vacuum part and allows fuel to flow from the "reserve" pick-up straight...

    Sport touring pants - suggestions?

I have two sets from Held: Burner for the cooler days and Malavi 2 for the warmer days. The upgraded armor is worth it. I actually end up wearing the Burner pants more, I find they breathe well enough that you don't really get hot unless you are sitting around inside.

Sounds more and more like a TPS out of adjustment..

    Rosey Toes Safety?

Schedule 6. 2. (7): ... from a rate of speed not less than 30 kilometers per hour, with heavy pedal or where applicable, heavy pedal and lever control force, (a) the motorcycle shall come to a complete stop within seven (7) meters; (b) no component shall fail; and (c) each wheel brake shall...

    06 GSXR 1K surging

I am now assuming that the obvious things have been checked off the list. Chain isn't pooched etc. Surging could be do to an improper setting of the TPS. The secondary throttle plates could be hunting a little because the TPS is out of adjustment. Which would change the airflow and cause a...

    NOKIA Drive for GPS

I have the Nokia 920. Felt much sturdier than the samsung. Switching from a blackberry the phone was incredibly easy to get the hang of. I have used the navigation software and it is very good. Waypoints are easy to set. Haven't tried to save the routes though.

Is Suzuki of Newmarket still bad?

She's doing a good job, especially when you consider what she's being handicapped with... the people above her are not making it easy to get the job done. There are some great individuals there, unfortunately the people who are really in charge just don't seem to care.

    Aftermarket Stator/Stator Cover

Test the coils with a multimeter. Make sure they are the correct resistance value and none of the coils are shorted. I deal with these problems all the time. In my mind there is no amount of savings that will justify installing an aftermarket stator (or a used on for that matter). If I am forced...

    For those who've switched...

I have been on almost every bike at some point in time or another. I work very hard to see the plus side in every bike, however sometimes it's impossible. Coming off the bikes you have ridden in the past the inclination is to stick with the sport-tourers etc. The ride comfy, tons of power and...

Low idle RPM, sputtering -- "Fixed" after refilling gas?

No. This issue sounds like water in the fuel tank, or clogged pick-up screen in the tank. Seeing as it pretty consistantly happens at the same fuel level, try completely draining the tank and starting with fresh fuel.

    Need Rejetting Advice

Starter jet is exactly what it sounds like: it meters the fuel provided to the starter circuit. That definition you found is pretty close, nothing glaringly wrong. However the pilot jet and screw combination also affects decel quiet a bit as well.

    Need Rejetting Advice

That other jet is the "starter" jet. I have seen that mid-range issue, it can be a combination of pilot size and needle position depending if it is a low-mid-range or high-mid-range. There is always a bit of an overlap of affected rpm ranges for the different circuits in the carb.
