Thanks for the well wishes. I saw my bike today for the first time since the accident. It's a sad sight, I don't know if it's repairable. Part of me hopes it can be fixed.
Sup Everyone,
So I had my first crash. Some idiot pulled a u-turn right through me. I honked my horn and swerved out of the way because I thought he was just cutting me off. I didn't realize his intent until he was pointing right at me. He clipped the back of me, I went down and he took...
Forgive my ignorance as I have never had an accident before but how is a hit and run handled by insurance? I guess you choose to file a collision claim or not (depending on damage)? Is there any investigation into fault as far as premiums increasing or accident history?
Yeah, lots can happen to your feet. It's worth it to buy a good pair of boots. Right now I ride in a pair of old (and smelly) skate shoes that would completely fall off my foot if I had an accident. Knock on wood nothing happens because I pick up my new boots next weekend.
Buying a bike is a hassle. You're free to try and make a profit but I doubt you'll be doing it again next year.
Are you planning on fixing up the bikes at all over the winter? If you own a truck you could buy bikes from the states and sell them up here. Again, I'm not sure the profit will...
I agree with this. So he runs over your foot today, maybe he kills a rider tomorrow?
The system is not enough to keep bad drivers off the road. At the very least his insurance premiums should go up. Maybe he won't be such an idiot driver.
Doesn't your gym have lockers? If they aren't big enough ask one of the staff if there's a place where you can leave it.
I don't know where you live but if your helmet locks onto the back of your bike I doubt someone's going to come by to steal it.
