Rode with a friend today, him on a Harley CVO....I asked him to get up to 80 km/h and lock his speed with the cruise control.....I matched his pace and I was doing 80. I don't think my bike has this issue, though I don't know if anything was done to correct it....
I completed th transformation today by picking up a 'beanie' style helmet at Royal Distributing in Whitby. I grabbed a GMax that came with a drop down sunscreen and removable neck curtain. There are probably better deals or beanies out there but the technology seems much simpler than full face...
Just another update on the move from a VFR to the Vulcan 900. I have really fallen in love with this bike on so many levels. It has so much more character than my previou bikes...I mean it's just a nice bike to look at and admire, and it meets my needs for communting, touring...just every day...
That's strange, I read this post on my phone while I was in Mississauga today...so I tested it...riding back to Ajax, I was cruising on the 401 at 120. Traffic was pretty heavy but when I had my oppertunity i brought her up to 140 (mimic a long passing manouver)...no issues, no vibration, I...
Picked her up today, rode home from GP Bikes to Ajax. Haven't been on the highway yet but will tomorrow. It is everything I expected. Laid back relaxed cruiser. It's very different form the viffer and I am getting used to a lot of things but I expected all this. I rode a friends big Harley...
No, not a crazy road rage story...I traded my 03 VFR in for an 06 Vulcan 900 Claasic. Went from sports touring to cruising! I figure life is short and there's plenty of riding left this season to try out a new style. I've been thinking of making this move for a while and saw a bike I liked...
Re: u guys on the 403 last night going north to the 407
Sort of like the ***** in the car that passed me (on my bike) uses half of my lane and the shoulder....401 east through Cambridge. I was in the fast lane doing 130, going with the flow and moving over for anyone coming up faster...but...
I rode my bike to Vancouver during the break in period! Varied the RPM and kept it below the required RPMs. As soon as I passed the break in KM I rolled on the throttle and started shifting at redline - I was on the trans Canada going over lake superior, great road and great timing for opening...
401 is ok if you stay in the leftmost lane on the express. Traffic jams (rush hour) sucks anywhere. Even in the fast lane, I get cars come up close to me because they want to go faster...I just move over and let them through then move back..no big deal...
I picked up an EXO-1000 a couple of months ago. They are on clearance now for around $124. I've been very happy with it. I love the internal sunvisor which is a must for me. The QWest is probably a better helmet but it doesn't include an internal sunvisor. The scorpian's are known to be...
I have a 2003 VFR. Thinking of moving to a cruiser. I like the Triumph Speedmaster. Am I crazy? I know the cruiser will feel slower, heavier...etc. just looking for folks who've made a similar move and how you adjusted, enjoyed, or regretted...
I've done long runs before...Toronto to Vancouver and Toronto to Cabot Trail...I'm pretty good at putting miles on - but you give good advice I should probably factor in an extra day or tell the dude I'm riding back with to meet me somewhere North of FL...
Thanks for all the input.....I'll probably take the Blue Ridge PKWY route...it doesn't seem to far off...even if its crowded it's one place I'd like to check off my list!
I read an article on webbike world about the Dupont Multi-Use, apparantly they changed the formula...the old one was a 'dry wax' formula, the new one doesn't work as well (according to them). I don't have a lot of experince with chain lube so I'm not sure...but I went to Lowes and found the...
No this is not another route thread! I can use mapquest, google maps..etc.
Was planning on at least overnight (or 2 or 3 or 4 night) trip this year but was looking for twisties. Now I have a friend who might ride down for a wedding and another friend who needs to fly down to pick up his bike...
