Opinions on the Honda CTX series - CTX700T, CTX1300

Curious what the touring folk think of these models. I gave up my 6th GEN VFR and went to a Vulcan because my legs couldn't take the 'standard' position for longer rides, they would cramp up and I'd be riding down the highway with my legs dragging. I'm very happy with the Vulcan, but I just...

pulled in at the Niagara border

A friend and I went on a road trip in August in his car, just an overnight getaway to kill time. We drove to Jersy to see the Badabing strip joint (sopranos) and then into Manhatten for dinner. We were 'harassed' entering the U.S. My friend is the type that just sounds nervous when speaking...

Need help finding a motorcycle lift for Cruiser..

Specifically for my Vulcan 900. I have rear flat and I'm not going to fix it till spring. I usually move the bike around in winter to keep the tires from sitting on one spot, but that' snot possible with a flat. Figure it's time to get a proper lift which will also help give it a smaller...

Test riding the Honda VT750C Phantom (aka blacked out Shadow) - Got questions?

Consider the Vulcan 900 Classic / Custom. I have a classic, and it's my first cruiser, so I am biased but people who own them seem to love them. They are good all around bikes.

401 traffic time riding a bad idea?

Try to avoid the middle to right lanes, to many people merging on and off. Some idiots cut across three lanes because they forgot where their exit is or just get frustrated with traffic and decide its time to get off in a hurry, others don't know what an acceleration lane is for and can't merge...

    Over night trip suggestion

I remembered that you posted this clip when I was riding from Renovo to St.Mary' at dusk in heavy rain feeling miserable, wet, cold with poor visibility and no safe place to take shelter! Except for a poor decision to not stay in Renovo before that run, I had a great time!

    Over night trip suggestion

Thanks for all the advice guys. Will head out tomorrow, probably head for Renovo. Familiarized myself with the routes and will try Tamarak Road and 666 for sure. Hopefully I'll avoid the rain on the way down! Thursday looks great though, I'll stretch out the time and come home late if I have...

    Over night trip suggestion

Rode through Vermont years back, great roads! Plan on going back but for now I only have the one night. Will do the PA roads this time.

    Over night trip suggestion

This looks interesting, can you give me more details on the route from Toronto? Thanks Ike for Ottawa suggestion too - I've been up that way though not as far as Ottawa, but it's a possibility for tomorrow. I'm going to check the forecast, we're supposed to be getting rain tomorrow and these...

    Over night trip suggestion

I have the week off and am looking to do an over night trip, ride all day, one night in a hotel, get back the next night. From GTA. I'm not looking for sites, just decent roads and scenery, maybe some curves, but I'm on a Vulcan so not looking for knee dragging corners. I prefer 80KP/h roads...

Some Beautiful Roads in Nova Scotia

People get friendlier the further east you go :) I try not to speed too much on my trips as it really ruins everything...now I'm on a cruiser so that won't be an issue...

Some Beautiful Roads in Nova Scotia

I used trans canada to get there - very boring, and Quebec roads or horrible and will destroy your tires. I rode back through the states, entering in NB, through Maine, Vermont - no interstates and much nicer! If I had to go back it will be through the US route...

I have that exact picture somewhere from my trip in 05 - except my yellow Katana and a Moose are in the background!

Effects of Cross Winds: Cruiser vs Street Bike

I've owned a Kawasakii ex500, katana 600, VFR800, and am now on a kawasaki Vulcan. The Vulcan definitely feels more planted in cross winds. Weight and low seat height.

    Help locating 'cushion clamp' fasteners

Thanks guys. I tried Lowes, Brofasco, Napa, Crappy Tire. I found them at lowes but only the 1" size. I'll check out princess auto when I'm in Whitby. May have to go online after all.

    Help locating 'cushion clamp' fasteners

Thanks for searching. The second one looks like it could work, but I need 2 1/2" length, I don't see them in that size. Still worth trying Princess Auto. I think I located the actual pic I posed at Lowes, but I don't see the actual size. At least I know what their called there, so I can go...

    Help locating 'cushion clamp' fasteners

Bike related since I'm building lowers (fork mounted wind deflectors for my Vulcan) and I need these things. Does anyone know where I would find these in the GTA? I tried Home Depot, Lowes..but they only have the regular hose clamps (or I asked the wrong people. Anyway they will hold a piece...

Does anyone else defend other riders on the road?

Years ago I sold a bike and was riding it from Ajax to Mississauga on the 401 to drop it off to the buyer, my ride back was following me and I asked him to stay on my tail so no other cars would squeeze in and separate us. A fellow rider in his car thought I was being tailgated and proceeded to...
