Another potential reason is that the manufacturers pump a considerable amount of money into a racing series to promote their products. With a few exceptions like Ducati North America, the American and Canadian distributors of the major brands are separate entities and are not interested in...
Ditto this. All 3 track days I have done this year were on Mondays. My workweek ends Saturday noonish after a 10-14 hour shift. I'm going to attempt TMP on the 21st. Get home Saturday, bed 2-3 p.m., wake 2-3 a.m. (note time of this post), load up and head to the track @ 5:30 a.m.
Interestingly this is the opposite direction to what we ran with GP Bikes on July 1st. You can do that at some tracks. At Grattan the DOCC used to run in the "normal" direction on Saturday and reverse on Sunday.
Yes. I was late getting suited up because I had a new set of tires mounted during the lunch break and fortunately wasn't on the track when the deluge hit.
Yeah, it was weird standing in the pit lane in the warm sunshine watching it move in. You could see the spray coming off of the trucks on the 401. Then you could see the spray coming off of the bikes on the back straight, then it was time to run like hell....
I think you are correct, there was discussion at the DOCC AGM about outsourcing the track rallies and the exec looked into it but it never came about. I think this is where my Snell 2005, ...no 2010, wait... 2005 confusion came from.
I would have no problem with Pro6, I was at Shannonville with...
Their website describes the spec as "2.6 mile (4.2 km) FIA / FIM grade integrated road course". So if I get to ride a track that can host :tongue4: MotoGP, WSB, and F1 and is less than 10K from home I'll learn to like it. I would guess the track day configurations would not include the oval.
Cool bikes! Where did you source your front discs from ?(MetalGear?) I figured the front end on my MC19 is off of a 1992ish NSR250R (41mm, odd sized brake pistons, preload adjusters) but it also looks a lot like the VFR400R. Does yours have preload adjusters on top ?
I put an Ignitech...
Interesting bike, I kinda like it

maybe not stupidly overpriced, but still overpriced.
I picked up this 1988 MC19 CBR250R for cheap this past winter.
I plan on using it as a track bike and have been getting it prepped. It's a bit of a mutt with an NSR250R front end and an RVF400 aftermarket fairing.
