My rate seems high but possible

Unless you have 5 years of G "experience", I think that's the best you'll get. I'm 22, have had my m2 for a month and pay $1700 a year for my 250. Had my G2 since I was 17 so that made a huge difference at StateFarm... Cheers

    State Farm Agent Recommendations?

Try Taylor at 905 469 4499 He was the cheapest of 4 state farm agents I talked to, also a generally nice guy that seemed like he knew a bit about bikes. My quotes for a 250 was $135/month or $1650 for the year (GM2, 6 years G, 22 yrs old) so you should be in that ballpark...

Kijijij bike ads with reason for selling due to high insurance lol

sigh... this entire thread is basically assumptions and bashing the younger generation. Too bad I fall into that category. Used the exact same reason on my kijiji ad because it was the honest truth. Mind you I didnt jump into a 600 SS, I bought an older ex500 and I'm 22. Am I the unlucky, mature...

    StateFarm screwed me BIG time...

Would you believe me if I told you I do none of the above? Only drank for one week in my entire life (in Cancun) don't like getting high, never liked cigarettes and only go clubbing when a close friend has a birthday (once every few months?) :angel3::angel5::angel7::angel9: inb4 people start...

    Trades... How do they work?

Except what you tell the ministry and your insurance company over the phone can be two different numbers. The insurance company won't have any way of knowing how much taxes you paid when initially purchasing the vehicle...

    StateFarm screwed me BIG time...

Yes I have completed the Centennial course last week. Most places I called said it barely made a difference though. In terms of Des Jardins, they wont give me a quote until the 16 of May, which is when my 60 days are up and I can officially go to the ministry and validate my m2. I'm also looking...

    StateFarm screwed me BIG time...

True, however costs add up eventually and as a university student working to pay his way through school, every penny counts. A budget is a budget and unless I strictly follow it, everything falls apart. Took me a while to save up and even if i end up with a 20 year old bike, it'll be much...

    insurance suggestions help?

As many people on this forum will say, lube up... You're waaaay too young to be on a 600, ergo must pay the price.

    Trades... How do they work?

My plan was to tell the ministry that the bike wasn't road worthy, needed an engine etc etc... If the trade goes through I'll probably list it as $400-500 so we end up paying around $70...

    Trades... How do they work?

So if two parties agree to terms and decide to trade a vehicle, how does the transfer of ownership work? Do we produce a bill of "sale" declaring that we indeed traded vehicles or do we create bills of sales stating we purchased the vehicles (for a super low price to save of taxes obviously)...

    StateFarm screwed me BIG time...

No can do. Parents don't drive and brother doesn't have an M license. I don't have a car to my name either. The only option I can foresee is selling it and getting a 250... Thanks for the help guys, appreciate it

    StateFarm screwed me BIG time...

So as I stated in earlier posts, I'm a n00b getting into riding and was looking to buy a gs500/ex500. Just got my m2 last week and I'm ready to ride. Around the end of March I did some window shopping and called a bunch of insurance companies and got some quotes for aforementioned bikes...
