They were blatantly crossing the street, not using a crosswalk, not even remotely close to one, without checking on coming traffic.

Wow that sucks, it was amazing how in the blink of an eye there were two people right infront of me. So I am assuming it doesn't matter what situation I am in, if I hit a jaywalker I will be at fault along with them?

Thanks for the advice guys I actually had my gear. But my jacket slipped from the impact and that's where I got the road rash on my waist. The jacket isn't lose its snug fit as well. :(
