I'm looking at a cruiser with aftermarket cobra pipes put on it. The owner claims they are loud and makes the bike sound AMAZING. I'm actually not a fan of bike that are TOO loud but regardless, it's a nice bike.
Does anyone know if the safety certification inspection will fail because of...
Homework pays off.
Do searches on kijiji, Yakaz and autotrader and look for sweet deals all across Ontario. Toronto is an expensive place to buy motorcycles. You'll find better deals in other cities. If the deals are really good in another city, rent a pick-up and go get your bike or take...
I wrote back and asked to see the bike and paperwork where the bike is being stored. His reply said, tell me where to meet you and I;ll see you there. Should I arrange the meeting place to be in front of a police headquarters? :)
I knew it was too good to be true
I replied to an autotrader post and this is the reply I got. Do you think it's a scam?
" Hi,
I got ur reply to my 2007 Yamaha YZF-R ad and i confirm that the bike is still for sale for $3200.
The bike is a 2007 year model with only 3900 km,1000 cc displacement.
It's in mint condition,runs...
Wow..... I can't believe how far I have to travel to get to a motorcycle dealership. Where have they all gone? No wonder used bike prices are so high compared to new bikes. Ridiculous!
Argggg !
OK .... I feel better now :)
I'm used to liquid cooling. 3 of my last 4 bikes have had liquid cooling.
I had a GS500 20 years ago and it was air cooled. It was awful when stuck in traffic or on hot days. I remember driving to Niagara on the Lake and being stuck in stop & go traffic on the highway. Awful !
I believe...
True. Mid controls on a cruiser are hard to find.
Question to the cruiser guys. When you go over a bump or something like railway tracks, do you just sit there and take the jolt through your arse ? On a sport bike you can get up on your foot pegs and absorb the shock with your knees. Can you...
Agreed.... We can't be just robots, working, doing chores and paying bills. Everyone needs a life of their own. Has anyone quit riding because of their kids or spouse? How did that work out ?
As a single parent I get a lot of looks when I tell people I ride a motorcycle. Many think it's irresponsible. I don't want this threat to be too serious, but are there any other single parent riders out there? Do you get the same looks?
Thanks everyone! I appreciate everyone's help. FYI... Added to my list is cast wheels and mid-controls. Downgraded is the need for rear disk brakes. I'm going to look at a Vulcan Custom tomorrow :)
Have a great day !
I'm looking for a front wheel chock to use on a cruiser in a garage (not a trailer). Can someon recommend where to get one in the GTA for a good price?
Thanks !
The Vulcan is the only bike that has everything I'm looking for. So I guess I'm good ! Well.... a question about drum brakes. I've always assumed disc breaks have a better 'feel' to them then drum brakes. To the guys who have driven bikes with rear drum brakes, what's the 'feel' like on the...
I've ridden sport bikes my whole life and now want to try a cruiser. Yay for me! One thing I have found about cruisers is that they don't always have the technology that is pretty much status-quo on sport bikes. I need this forums help to help me find a cruiser with what I'm looking for...
I am writing to get a few suggestions on how to get a bike from someones garage to a mechanic in this winter weather. Unfortunately I don't drive a vehicle with a hitch or I'd just rent a trailer. Does anyone know of mechanics who provide motorcycle transport services (cheap) ? Other than...
Thanks for everyone's point of view. I'm getting the general message that the drum brakes on a M50 are 'OK' but overall the braking on this bike could use improvement. Having come from riding CBR600's and Honda VFR.s (with ABS linked front and read braking), I suspect I will be disspointed...
Thanks for the vote of confidence regarding stopping (and lock up) abilities. How are drum brakes when it comes to feel? Are they sloppy? Do they have a nice feel to them?
I'm looking at Suzuki Boulevard motorcycles and like the M50 and M90 models. The price point on the M50 is really good but the M50 has drum brakes in the rear. Does anyone have any experience with the M50? How are the brakes? I've never driven a bike with drum brakes am a bit apprehensive...
