Friends I am New rider in Canada, but have been riding in other countries since I was 12 yrs old, i.e. almost 25 yrs, though have been riding smaller CC motorcycles (100 to 200 cc) and in less speedy and a lot more stupid traffic.

with some companies you can still get insurance with M1 but they might want to see that you have completed your Motorcycle Training course, Though the insurance rates will be higher as compare to M2.
Generally an AF (At Fault) accident effects between 10-15% of you annual premium, But with Some companies if you have an accident with Car they don't rate your Motorcycle for that accident and vice-verse,

All the agents with All personal lines insurance companies are licensed agents they are "suppose" to know the insurance but they might not be update with the particular insurance companies guidelines or policies, as in recent times these guidelines are changing so quickly

I checked with a Police officer and he didn't know any law about Children on Motorcycle, however he advised me there is some website by Toronto Police where you can ask these kind of questions but I am not able to google than site. Any one knows ?
You can get insurance and once you don't need it you can cancel it. Most companies will not charge you cancellation fee if you tell them you have sold the bike.

Its not only the number of claims, it the quantum of claims that effects the insurance (in insurance terms it is severity not the frequency of claims which causes a huge increase) , in ON the average claims cost is a lot more than anywhere else in Canada.
