    Shannonville?

I'm heading down with 2 friends, would have registered earlier if they had a means to do it online... So that makes 11, but I'm sure there will be more roll-ups!

    where to buy engine ice

I use propylene glycol in my humidor, and yes it's slippery.... and will ruin a good cigar if it gets on one. :angry5: lol.

    Need a recommended BMW dealer

Guaranteeing you didn't get shafted in the process.... priceless! :D

    Need a recommended BMW dealer

On BMW Toronto, I bought my F800S there and thought the sales staff were really great, even got a fantastic deal. Very personable, and enjoyed doing their group rides with other customers for 2 seasons afterward. Service, however, was a logistic nightmare. Like someone posted earlier, a...

    fork rebuild

The shop manual for your bike likely (NOT the owner's manual) has all the parts and directions on how to do this yourself. You can download these for free for a lot of bikes. Probably also a good idea to get Haynes or similar manual for more tips and directions. If you have the time for it...

    How do shot tires behave?

Wheel, shock, or whatever else, probably a good idea to get it to a shop for a look. These things don't exactly heal themselves... and you may prevent a more surprising experience from happening in the future. Stay safe!

    Lets see your track/race videos!

I was behind stnd when he went off... that's me at the beginning of the vid, going real slow showing a beginner around the track. Actually did a handstand when going over the handle bars before landing on the tire wall. Dude you lived up to your avatar, even landed on your feet like a cat...

    How do shot tires behave?

My vote would also be to check your shock if it is happening under acceleration and not when maintaining speed.

where to buy a pop-up tent for resting during a track day?

Canadian Tire has a sale on the Broadstone tents for $119. Looks like they also come with side flaps and a carry case too.

What helmet is actually really good and worth its 500-800?

Agreed. Fact remains that if you don't have confidence in the brand you are wearing, any data on its safety, durability, etc., is really pointless.

    Ducati service

Check out Corsa Meccanica in Vaughan. Bit north of TO, but I've heard very good things about them.

    Anyone own a BMW K1200s?

Can't comment on either bike, but you might want to make sure you know where you'll take the BMW for service. BMW Toronto has really bunged it up for a lot of people who are now taking their rides elsewhere. That'll go a long way to your enjoyment of the 1200S.

    I think I'm done

Riding in the city can be amazing, you just need to pick your time and location. My favorite is at night. Anywhere sucks in traffic. If your preference is to not ride in the city, or not ride at all, that's up to you. Just be careful not to preach.

    new rider, first scare

+1 for "Proficient Motorcycling". And, to add to TorontoBoy's post, always think about an exit route. My only ever accident back in the day was on my FZ600. I was stopped at a red light behind another vehicle and a car rear-ended me. Some on this site have had the presence of mind to pull out...

Upgrade to a BMW F800R as my second motorcycle

That Husky looks like a sweet bike! With the inverted forks, & over 100 bhp, likely we'll see the 800R upgrade to similar specs in the future, but I doubt it'll be discontinued. Or cheap. The Nuda looks to be more of a Super Motard than a naked urban bike like the 800R... not sure if Husky...

Advanced Riding Course with Turn 2

It depends on what you want to get out of the course. I rode my own bike when I did my ARC1 a few years ago, but that was because I wanted to know how to ride my bike closer to its limits, which is impossible on the street. If your interest is instead to learn riding skill generally, rent...

Upgrade to a BMW F800R as my second motorcycle

Totally easy. Actually my GSXR track bike is a bigger PITA for maintenance!

    Moto Guzzi @ BMW Toronto

I'll do you one better: check out Corsa Meccanica, which IS in Vaughan! They are a great sales and service shop specializing in MG, Aprilia and some other italian machines.

    Anyone know this track bike?

I don't know that bike, but my track bike is an 01 GSXR 600, 32,xxx kms, with 600 forks and swingarm. These are great bikes but with all old machines you're going to be investing money in them every year as parts wear out. If you can't get any other info on it, have the seller agree to let you...

Anyone doing Rider's Choice SMP Long on Thursday?

RC are my favorite track day organizer, I always buy a package at the beginning of the season. The film crew was from Discovery Channel, they were getting some footage of the guys from Kreater to include in a documentary. BTW, sweet bike! If I didn't get good drive out of the hair pin, you'd...
