A Tuono. Actually I came to a decision today. I don't feel like I need to work this hard to buy a bike for the minimal discount I'm getting. The dealership is far enough away that savings will end up being minimal. Plus it also made me realize **** it, I'm gonna get the 2016 1100 VR with the new...
So I called the dealership back after discussing what this says:
"The sale of a road vehicle is taxable. However, the QST does not apply in the following situations:
The supplier ships the vehicle outside Québec.
The supplier transfers possession of the vehicle to a common carrier or to a...
I don't have a tow rig. Renting a van to drive it that distance will be multiple times more than paying them to ship it. And temp plates are cheap relatively.
From what I can tell, whether the dealership will let you get away with not paying the QST varies from dealership to dealership. Many have tried this, and were forced to pay first and get reimbursed afterwards. Trust me I wish it were that straight forward.
Any tips on how to get the dealership...
That's a good idea. Except the MTO temp plate is $15 so the shop would have to charge less than that to receive the bike for me. Not sure how likely that is.
Yes, my understanding is, you must pay QST first. Then when you register it with MTO and pay GST in Ontario, you then fill out paperwork to be reimbursed for the QST from Quebec.
Interested in buying a bike in Quebec. Did as much research as I could, just wanted to run it by someone that might have done it before. The dealership is Rock MotoSport. Seems to be a large powersports dealer. Claims they sold the bike new to an owner at the beginning of the 2015 season and he...
My understanding is they do not insure full on supersports, so they wouldn't for example insure a CBR600RR but they would a CBR650F, or not a Daytona 675R but they would a Street Triple RX, again not an R6, but they would an FZ6R, etc.
Holy cow! M2, <40, 1 ticket, second rider on it too with no tickets but 1 at-fault claim, $910 with The Personal. But that could have included a multi/combined discount with 2 cars and a home with them too.
The cars were a great rate too. Cheaper than what TD MM was offering by a fair amount. When I moved from "Economical" to "the Personal", I also saved on the cars. I found after adding the renters insurance, it pretty much made the renters insurance free as the discount I got by combining was...
