Wow. Must be something wrong with the brakes they put on Japanese bikes. I change the fluid at the beginning of the season and that's it. Never see any change in performance and I think I brake pretty hard (?). 4 piston / 4 pad brembos with SS lines and crappy non-radial master. Stock...
Fast Frank has one of the lightest, coolest Ducati Sport Classics ever assembled....but even he doesn't make a quick change kit for it. I do already have his captive rear axle blocks though - they are a big help. But I am still stuck removing two axle nuts, four caliper bolts and four axle...
UPS brokerage fees is not their issue. It has something to do with US export regulations. They will not even ship to a US address if the online order came from a foreign IP address.
Placed an order online for a pile of hardware to convert my bike for quick wheel changes (shims, bolts, locking clips etc.). Turns out they don't ship to individuals in Canada - must be a business.
I still have the complete list of part numbers etc. Can anyone help a guy out? This stuff...
Took out all the boingy and slurpy bits. Slurpy bits are going to Georgia tomorrow for revalving, and a mod to add compression damping adjustment. Coming home with stiffer springs too.
You obviously don't know Fred. He is a qualifying specialist. Just no stamina.
Seriously, you can fiddle with the math as you like, but your hypothetical middle rider who competes every round and finishes just ahead of Bob every time is still winning the championship against someone who...
Finishing positions, Rounds 1 to 6:
Fred: 3rd, 3rd, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 4th
Bob: 1st, 1st, DNF, 1st, 1st, 1st
And Fred just squeaks out the Championship with 201 points, 1 point more than his nearest rival, Bob! Hooray for Fred!
I also found it odd to see the first 11 positions equally spaced for points (40, 37, 34 etc). The difference between winning a race and placing second should be larger than the difference between, say 9th and 10th...or even 2nd and 3rd.
I'm not familiar with the points structures of too many...
Don't know you Ken...but I should would like to know about road-racing a Bandit! I am assuming the old air-cooled type - 600 or 1200? Pre or post 2001 model? What suspension mods? What does it weigh? PM me?
Hmm let's see....duc got Woodcraft bars installed, a 1/6 turn throttle from an R6, new grips, and new clutch fluid. Today I adjusted the valves and checked belt tension.
Piles left to do, including repairing and painting bodywork, getting my wheels set up with bolts and pins that permit quicker...
I am using a Penske 3-way. Great unit and excellent support directly from Penske (Mike Himmelsbach). Only issue is that it gets a bit grimy inside so that it is hard to feel the compression adjustment detents. That's when I know it is time to send it in for service (about once every 2 years)...
Put the duc in the basement workshop. Hasn't turned a wheel since my crash in SOAR round 4. Woodcraft 3-part clipons fitted up, more or less. Trying to get the R6 throttle tube working properly. Supposed to be quicker turn (which it is) but it is not very smooth. Probably need to be...
You will hate yourself if you try that. Mine sure took more than 5 h to build, including needing a drill to enlarge the hole for the tongue pin among other minor mods just to make it work. It might look simple but there are a zillion nuts and bolts and many frame pieces. Trying to do this in...
I was using a Woodcraft clamp-on type at the beginning of the season, but I had it attached to a custom bar-end because the bar wasn't long enough. It tore out in a crash. Then I had one of the Chinese ones with the expander in the end of the bar. It was never as secure as the Woodcraft...
....and doesn't have the bars, the controls or your hands making contact with the tank or the fairing at any steering angle. On some bikes that actually leaves a pretty limited range of adjustment.
That doesn't look too bad to me, at least in the normal impact zone. Video doesn't show what the situation was further down towards the track entrance. That is also a place where bikes sometimes end up when things go bad early in T12.
I really don't understand why it is so hard to just have...
Nope,I was in jail. But she is starting to make noises like endurance racing might be okay for next season, but not sprints. This is based on zero knowledge or experience on her part, but arguing with her on this issue based on logic...well you might as well argue with the weather.
