Might want to unbolt those passenger pegs though...

You know I am just jealous. That bike is super cool and your new exhaust is sooooooo nice..... Radiators? We don't need no stinkin' radiators.... Big bore air-cooled twins baby!

Oh, and the trash talk begins! Got your 550-lb BOTT LW contender track-ready yet? Or still whining about how cold it is in the garage?

2015 SOAR Rulebook including Ontario & Quebec Championship Point Structure

Reviving this thread just to ask a simple question....is there still an actual SOAR championship? And if so, it is based on just the 5 rounds before the SOAR / RACE runoffs, yes? Sorry, I assume the answer to both questions is "yes" but it is not actually stated in the rules. Makes a...

Repaired crash damage to my fairing, primed painted and clear-coated. Even sanded the blood splatter off the inside. Just need to repair the burn hole in my belly pan, change tires and clean the chain. Curious to hear what she sounds like with the wrapped exhaust.

    Trailer Suggestions?

I have the folding "salter" one linked above, but in red. It looks exactly the same, but was purchased through Northern Tools. It is fine for one bike but you would really be pushing it with two. First of all, 4 x 8 is pretty small to load two bikes. The outside tie strap to the forks will...

    Tire contingency?

Even though it is against my own interests, it is hard to argue with Tim on this one. In BOTT LW I am reasonably competitive and can get maybe three weekends out of one set of tires. So, like $150 / weekend tire budget. Sure it's nice to win some tire money, but it just isn't a big expense...

    paint advice - base coat?

The paint that came on the bike is still the beautiful factory stuff and that is never getting painted over unless it gets badly damaged. Just trying to match the Airtech nose fairing to the rest of the bike, reasonably closely and cost effectively. If the whole bike were getting painted I can...

    paint advice - base coat?

Oh wait....the DupliColor white sandable primer is enamel based (was very hard to find that information!). So should be okay under urethane, yes? I will wet sand it to 800. I know it looks like I can't find my own *** with both hands here but paint is complicated for the uninitiated. I do...

    paint advice - base coat?

Sorry, do you mean a white colour coat or white primer? Between your comment and bakaboy's I am thinking I should order some white urethane colour coat to cover the primer, then apply the yellow. Damn this seems more complicated than it should be...

    paint advice - base coat?

Thanks guys. I heard back from Color Rite and they say that even though there is no official base coat for this colour, the primer colour will probably have a significant effect. They also said (to my surprise) that it was fine to use a lacquer primer like DupliColor under their urethane...

    paint advice - base coat?

That's what I did last time and the match was poor. Thus my desire to experiment.

    paint advice - base coat?

I am repainting my fairing after repairing some crash damage. I am spray-bombing it just like last time using Color Rite urethane just like I did last time. Things came out pretty decent last time, but the colour was not a perfect match to the rest of the bike. The Color Rite paint comes with...

Noob new to track. where to go?

That's interesting that TMP has their intro to track school dates on the website, but no 2015 schedule for track days yet. Kinda need to get off the pot on that. Grand Bend too. I see Red Dawn has their schedule set. Pretty low key days at TMP and I love that they are on Thursdays.

    Tire contingency?

Anyone have info on Bridgestone or Dunlop's 2015 tire contingency programs? I can't find anything online. Would be nice to choose tires and be ready for spring testing.

What did you do to your Race/Track Bike today - 2014

Well, it's more about the style of racing in the various classes. We tend to be pretty relaxed in BOTT LW - there is usually enough difference between the machines that if you are faster than someone else you are *really* faster and the passes are quick and definitive. Even more so in...

Racing and track day must have

My brother and I usually change our own. All you need us a lever type bead breaker and three tire irons. And a lot of patience. Honestly it's a ****** job and worth paying someone to do unless you are bored and just want an excuse to play in the garage for a while.

Not necessary this time around. Her people and my people have just completed negotiations. I'm in for endurance and BOTT LW this year. Plus, I get to stay married to a hot chick who makes more money than I do. I'm calling this a win. All I had to give up was racing against the 600s, and the...

2014 Track Days - Local Tracks and Nürburgring

What is this business with people horsing around on the back straight at Mosport? I just don't get that. That is a serious track and demands total respect, yet I often see video of people rolling off and looking back to wait for their friends, or braking far too early, or doing all kinds of...

    a hypothetical question

So, clip-on height, clutch cable, brake reservoir. Not one of those requires the bike to be moving, or even running to sort. Same goes for steering head bearings, brake pads, rotors, wheel balance, tire pressures, chain adjustment, sprocket wear, and positions of any of the controls. You...
