Up taxes to fix traffic, Mayor tells transportation forum (Mississauga News)

Except, for those who work in an office anyway, the point of coming in to work is primarily to meet and interact with your colleagues. Otherwise, you could just work from home. So, if they're coming at different times it kind of defeats the purpose of coming at all. Making more use of video...

    TT Isle of Man

What is it they're peeling from their visors? I'm guessing some sort of transparent wrap for quick bug removal? Seems like it would be useful for non-racers as well.

How far did you go this season?

I did about 2k on the GS500F before selling it in April. I put about 17K on the new-to-me SV650, and I guess I'm done now. So, 19K in total on mostly evening and weekends -- only the occasional commute since I usually work from home. I would keep riding on warmer days but I'm concerned about...

200,000 km on my bike on the weekend!

What kind of chain lube do you use and where do you buy it? Ted told me to lube it with every tank of gas and not bother with cleaning. I assume he told you the same?

    Picked up a new-to-me bike :)

Nice deal. How did you find it?

    Helmet Heads up display!

That is cool. Looks like they are considering building something for motorcyclists (from their FAQ):

    End of Season Oil Change

Is there justification for changing the filter before storage as well? Mine will probably have less than 2K on it when I'm done for the year.

options for carrying laptop while commuting?

I wouldn't put a laptop in a tank bag unless it had an SSD drive. Those powerful magnets could wreak havoc on the data stored on a magnetic drive. It might mess up credits cards etc if you throw in your wallet carelessly, too.

Snake Rd. turn 3 claims another victim

Oh, I've got this down thanks to Toronto's horrendous rush hour. ;) I've been working on this, and can get it about 80% of the time, in part out of the necessity of navigating the ridiculously cramped garage where I park my bike. Although I'm sure some external coaching would be helpful...

Snake Rd. turn 3 claims another victim

I took the introductory course for the M2, and one track course. Although the former was the most viable way of entering the sport, the latter felt like much better value for my money, i.e I learned a hell of a lot more per dollar spent. I was already familiar with most of the theory taught in...

    Why did you start?

I didn't have any exposure to motorcycles growing up, and apart from admiring them when they flew by on the 401, they weren't really on my radar until I met a co-worker who rode dirt bikes. I was intrigued by his stories of "misspent youth" and seriously considered it, but the insurance quotes...

options for carrying laptop while commuting?

I've been carrying the Arc'teryx Blade 21 for 9 years and it is still performing well. No leaks or rips despite almost daily use with heavy laptops and books. I think they've stopped making that exact model, but I'll likely replace it with one of its descendents some day.

Still commuting? How long will you commute until?

Strange. Try a search for product code 5022-451, the Outdoor Research "Ninjaclava". Yes, I suppose a thinner material on top would be ideal, but my helmet still fits OK. Edit -- Maybe this would be better...

Still commuting? How long will you commute until?

I just picked up one of these the other day. I like that the "hinge" lets me comfortably hook it on my chin. The more traditional balaclava I had been using, which covers my mouth and nose, had the annoying tendency to blow my breath upwards and fog up my visor and glasses.

What's Your Temperature Cut-Off For Riding?

Wow, those photos are dramatic. I'm impressed you're riding already. Freezing point is my cut off. I don't like the idea of hitting ice, especially in a turn. Although, I have to say -- I don't understand why people give up in the cooler weather if there isn't snow or ice on the ground. It's...

The REAL cost of owning a motorcycle…

After getting bored of doing figure-eights in the parking lot, I've started rounding up Canadian geese. Oddly no one has paid me for this service. :) The only business that comes to mind would be a courier service for distances that are impractical with a bicycle. If you were allowed or simply...

The REAL cost of owning a motorcycle…

The closest I've come would be taking my bike instead of the car on trips for work -- I save a little on gas and (sometimes) parking.

Can I show up fairly late at night to camp? Realistically, I won't leave Toronto until probably 7pm on Wednesday night.
