Wash bike frequently, and wax the bike thoroughtly before it gets frozen out there. You'll find grime comes off easier of the whole bike is well waxed (and this includes rims, metals etc). Good chain lube and chain cleaner as well is a MUST.

It would be pretty hard to diagnose a "warped head" without some work, doing a leak down test, compression test, etc etc. Edit: Pretty much what brian said. Engine run without coolant can and does do terrible terrible damage. Sometimes you get lucky though, and the damage is not severe...
