Lady duck-walking a powered off orange dirtbike (looked like a no-name Chinese model) down McNicoll towards Cummer & Leslie at a slow, relaxed pace... what the hell were you doing?
So you haven't bought it yet? If that's the case, why not just buy one there? Are you getting a stupid good deal on it?
I just took a look at Suzuki Australia's website and they do have this model there. It might be cheaper to just start looking for one for sale on the Australian bike forums.
I'm still not entirely clear why it doesn't apply.
It still doesn't seem like that's stated anywhere to me.
In any case... I'm just getting into debate mode at this point, and if I stick around I'll probably piss someone off. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us, Rob, your posts are...
But if if he chooses to act, he has to do both, correct? Isn't the phrasing here most similar to that of 82(2)? Looking at it, it seems to have the same structure of 'The officer may do x, y and z.'
If you look at most of the machines, a lot of em have an indicator that free air is provided for some purposes (usually beside a series of pictures including a bicycle, rubber ducky and beach ball). You have to go inside and ask them to turn it on if you want to take advantage of this.
If the...
Where is the significance of 'shall' specified? Gonna guess it's in some other, less specific document relating to how to read laws in general?
You definitely seem to know what you're talking about with legal stuff, so maybe you can enlighten me here: How should the following hypothetical...
This can't be the case. The HTA includes the word 'roadside' in only three locations, and in all cases that's as part of the phrase 'for the purpose of carrying out a roadside repair', not about inspections.
HTA 82(2) says that a police officer 'may require the driver of any motor vehicle or...
I'm having great difficulty understanding why so many posters are saying this guy shouldn't finance his bike and call it a 'toy'. How do you have any clue whether this bike is a 'toy' for him? He didn't say anything like that in his post. For all you know, he could be planning no recreational...
Is this legit? If you're beside a cop in traffic and the ask you to 'give it a little gas' are you under any particular obligation to comply, or can you just say 'No thank you, Officer.' / nothing at all?
I've spent a lot of time looking at the HTA trying to familiarize myself with the laws...
I'm failing to understand how this is a good match. If it enters the powerband once you hit 70 kph, that means that for city riding you're spending the whole distance either going faster than the speed limit or under the power band. How is that good? Maybe I'm missing something here?
1WheelDrive, I haven't heard of wrap - from the name I'm guessing it involves covering the plastic with a sheet of some other material instead of painting? What kind of material, and can I find examples of what it might look like somewhere?
And yeah, it does seem a bit silly to buy new ones and...
Yeah, fix your own bike. It doesn't sound like you had any real internal/mechanical damage - everything you described is just plastic and control levers. The old broken ones all bolt or screw right off and the new ones bolt or screw right on. There's nothing complicated about it.
Also, look for...
I kinda hope I'm right in assuming that an aftermarket DOT headlight should probably be bright enough to not get a second glance unless I do something else stupid.
Do people think it's squid-ish to wear a textile jacket (with some sort of internal plastic plates, it's an Alpine Stars jacket but I don't recall the model name) and half-helmet while commuting in the city (i.e, on 50-60 kmh roads). I do have some nice Cortech gloves, but have a feeling a lot...
