Lots of volume up top, not much at the base where the fuel level sensor is, thanks to the shape. Everything looks fine until the gasoline gets down to that point. Had an older Kawasaki like that. Remember pulling into a gas station just before it closed on Saturday, up north, middle of nowhere...
IME, even a Schuberth C3 is only good to 50 km/h or so, depending on the wind. Then you need earplugs. It was the warmest/hottest helmet I've tried so far. A scarf or ski mask of some sort will be your best bet. Some helmet brands offer neoprene chin curtains, like HJC. It's all about keeping...
Brushed a good 4" of snow off the car before leaving a get-together tonight. I guess winter has arrived, except for V-Tom. Could almost run sleds on the main strip. Merry Xmas to all!
Same here with the Maxia. It's good for light, bulky items. It's not exactly sexy, but they you realize it's about riding more, not a fashion show. Motorcycles are such variable shapes that it's hard to make luggage look good, even if factory. Street Glides are only ones that work for me.
Meh, the surviving cops, military and bandits in a disaster scenario will commandeer the remaining fuel sources and functional vehicles/generators as necessary. Being in possession of either resource will make you a target. Better to have good shoes/clothing, clean water and safe living...
Hmm, not sure what municipality in Canada doesn't charge up the wazoo for garbage pickup/recycling through bin fees and property taxes. Not to mention the tire disposal fee and the carbon tax (or whatever the guv calls it). Tires are legal products critical to the functioning of the economy. We...
Japanese riders *get* motorcycles, which is why they make & buy cool little bikes. They understand North Americans better than we realize. Take the Bandit 400, for instance. Liquid cooled inline four. Looked awesome in red, revved to the moon. A rider's bike. The market response? "Something...
Sarcasm for the V-Tom or approval? I never understood why that clip was chosen for a GIF. Orson Wells was a very ambiguous clapper. Might let the scooty-doot take a leak on the weekend before I put it to sleep. December is getting dark and dreary. Plus, I've been on a music listening spree...
at Trials: Anything that looks like it was invented by 60's Spider-Man as a way to kill time between super villain fights deserves high praise. Coolness points +1 million. Regrettably, my inner Scotsman scoffs at the lack of seat and tartan paint schemes. Are they mostly 2-strokes?
at Wingboy...
Aren't trials bikes the very definition of motorcycles stripped of the superfluous for (very specific) competition? Or do they come with extra stuff for...the street? I don't think I've ever seen one in person.
If people continue to buy bikes, they will continue to be produced. A chicken + egg dynamic if you will. Governments won't voluntarily give up a revenue stream, no matter how minuscule. Bribing the burgeoning public sector or corporate overlords isn't cheap. Alcohol, then tobacco, then casinos...
Heh, I knew it! He mentioned a high-end Kawasaki some threads ago. The ride home on Friday was fine. Spidey-sensed a car pulling into traffic near the funeral home on Dundas St. A bit late for a Halloween trick, I thought. Fortunately, that's the one stretch where I consider the speed limit to...
Definitely. The comments section at the time I noticed was a running battle over the merits of early retirement or youthful sabbatical. Hard to tell if anyone bothered to read about your travels. It's not like you're pausing every few images to say "sucks to be you, worker drones!" That's the...
It was another glorious ride in on a fine November morning. Traffic itself was the usual mess, with top honours going to a gravel truck driver. Stay safe out there.
The sand helps with traction but also jams up the track switches at intersections. That's why the driver sometimes gets out with that long crowbar and pokes around. At least that's what they told me. The new Bombardier streetcars use ground up $5 bills instead of sand.
