Appreciate all the responses….sounds like a week plus is typical, so good to know for next year! Glad I didn’t wait until the weather was really nice….guessing that might have been a longer wait due to the rush for pick-ups!
Storage contract? Didn’t get one to sign.
I did ask for it “well in advance” but given they store upstairs and no work needs to be done on it, I assumed it might be quicker. Not a big deal…as someone mentioned, the weather has been crap so I’m not missing much! 😂
Sounds reasonable. I haven’t been in to see how many are sitting there, but I assumed quite a few would already have been picked up…but I guess the weather still hasn’t been that great. Although not sure how I would arrange anything other than a cold call in the future.

Anyone else store their bike at BMW Toronto? Just did it for the first time this season. Called to pick it up and found out they need a week’s notice?!? They’re stored upstairs on the Motorrad floor and rotate a battery tender. Apparently they need to get it ready/check it over.

Garmin Zumo 590LM motorcycle GPS. Includes all accessories including car mount and cigarette lighter power adapter (never used).
Works perfectly. 1 small ding on a corner (see photo). I have also removed 3 of the connectors from the (massive) wiring loom. Only kept the audio out jack...
As much as I’d love not having to ride 1.5 hours in traffic to escape the city, having to get in my car to drive to grab milk, other groceries, grab a pint or have an amazing meal would be much more of a nuisance for me. Not to mention the commute to work….people may be working from home now...

This is from a 2014 but may fit other model years. Perfect condition….bike is long gone and it would be a shame to toss the seats.
If you’ve got an 1190R, this would allow you to swap seats from the stock bench seat.
I was told they were considering air freight last year as well (from multiple dealers) in the spring when a lot of customers were waiting on bikes that were stuck in Germany. At least they provided an accessory credit due to the delays!
They should be able to tell him exactly where it is. BMW is pretty good with being up front about everything (depending on the sales person!).
My wife’s new bike has been born/has a VIN, but is sitting at port waiting to make its way across the ocean. Currently no ETA.
…and when you finally get the VIN, you get to deal with the delays due to lack of shipping containers, backups at ports, labour shortages, etc.
I actually factored all this in when I decided to buy a bike in late November 😁
