Do you buy used or new? Why?

I've done both, but I find that used is better, DEPENDING on the type of bike you are buying. If you're after a supersport bike or a motocross bike then be VERY careful buying used. Those bikes are designed to be ridden hard and usually are, and many of them ridden by people who don't know how...

    Royal Distributing Tent Sale

I'm curious if the "no tax" part extends to the rest of the store and items not in the tent?

    Proof I did it again!

I did my 2nd IronButt ride back in August 2018, submitted the paperwork in January and got my certificate in February. This was a tough ride for me. It was 40c that day and the heat made it very hard. My ride started in Peterborough and went to Pembroke, North Bay, Timmins, Sudbury, Toronto...

    Virago Purchase

There is nothing wrong with either the Virago 250 or Vstar 250 (literally the same bike with, a different sticker on the tank). They've been built unchanged since the 80's, if they were maintained properly they are bullet proof. Most have been through several sets of hands as a beginner bike...

2019 tour on my new Goldwing

Several days? On a Goldwing? This is a one day trip, 2 if you want to stop and take a few pictures! ;) I'd do it and still be home to sleep in my own bed. But, if you really want to stop and smell the roses and visit family it looks like a fun route with some great scenery. Enjoy!

Going to ride again after knee replacement.......

It's all going to depend on you and your individual circumstances. How much damage has been done, how well the surgery went, how well you healed after, how much strength/range of motion you got back, residual pain, weight/height of the bike etc. Back in the very early 2000's I rode with a guy...

Anyone here file an Iron Butt ride last year?

I did my last SS1000 on August 13, 2018. I didn't end up submitting the paperwork until January and received my package in about a month. I ordered a few extra goodies to go with that certification which did not come as ordered so I am currently trying to sort that out.

IF MC insurance was $400/yr, would you own more than one bike?

I was paying just over $300/yr when I had my Bandit 600. My ST1300 with full coverage is $1100. If insurance was just $400/yr I'd probably just enjoy the savings rather than get a second bike. I would take that $700/yr difference and spend it on gas, hotels and meals on the road rather than a...

    New Zero SR/F Released

Josh from Classy Chassis and Cycle is down at the launch and posting videos to their Facebook page and will be having a demo for the full lineup some time this spring. You have to remember that this is the thin edge of the wedge. Yes they are pricey, yes the range is limited-ish, yes the...

just a pic of a bike on a bike

Is this so you can transport your mountain bike to a cottage or something? I can't see riding a $20k bike to the parking lot of a trail system and then leaving it there to go peddling. And then there's the problem of where to store your street riding gear while you're out on the trail.

Hang in there, winter's almost done.

The other part I hate about the spring melting all of the snow away (aside from the annual flood in my garage) is all of the cigarette butts emerging from their winter hibernation in the snow banks! I don't know why smokers think that butts magically disappear when they flick them away.

Hang in there, winter's almost done.

Well, finally a sign that I can almost start to see the light at the end of the tunnel..... my motorcycle insurance was due today! It always comes due at the end of February which usually means about 6 weeks more weeks until riding season starts. While my insurance went up, I can't complain...

With your guidance Enduro/SM riders, I’ll save so much $

I'm a little confused as to your comment about the Bike Show being so close. Are you planning on buying the bike at the show and want to know about accessories to try and get thrown in on the deal? Or have you already bought your bike and are looking for accessories to buy at the show...

Daughter wants to ride, where to start?

If she wants to ride on the street then an M1 exit course is the way to go. I took mine at Durham College back in 1997 (age 16) and went from having never ridden a motorcycle ever to being able to start riding on the road. That didn't mean that I just hopped on my bike and rode wherever I...

Hang in there, winter's almost done.

Monday was a nice day, I went and stood out on the driveway just to feel the sun and the 6c temps on my face but I was too sore to even try and chop a channel through the ice at the bottom of my driveway so the water could drain out to the sewer. A day later and it was all frozen over again and...

Hang in there, winter's almost done.

You can hope, prey, bargain all you want. The fact is there is still basically 7-8 weeks of winter left. If you live in the GTA and don't mind risking black ice in the corners or have the ability to wash the salt off your bike after every ride, there may be SOME riding to be had in March, but...

    Are Supersports Over?

I understood riding an SS on the street a lot more back when I started riding. Back then if you wanted performance you didn't have many options other than to buy an SS bike. Honda's VTR was one of the few really competent sporty non-SS bikes out there. What else were you going to ride, a...
