    Gas?

I run Shell 91, Canadian Tire 91, or Costco 91 in all my bikes. If I'm on the road, I'll burn through it quick, and I can't find ethanol free (as listed above) I'll run 87 unless the manual specifies better. In the states there are a lot of places where you can get 87 with or without ethanol...

Waiting for pedestrians to cross entire road before proceeding?

Jaywalking laws? In Canada, you can't cross at a crosswalk disobeying the light, but it's not illegal to walk on the rest of the roadway (unlike the USA, where it is).

Partial Explanation as to Why Ontario MC Insurance is so high

This is so wrong though. You CAN compare similar products, including accident benefits, and it WILL come out cheaper. Even if auto providers won't cover it, I could pay for private health insurance that covers all the stuff covered by accident benefits, plus the pennies for actual auto...

So Insurance Companies Dropped The Rule To Pay 1 Yr In Advance?

I always pay in one lump sum because of the service charge, and my premiums run in the thousands. I know the pain.

    Aftermarket exhaust denied coverage

Seriously? I've had a power commander on a bike (not anymore, I didn't like the longer start time) and would never have bothered to tell insurance. Aftermarket intake and exhaust too. On a cruiser especially, it's all just cosmetic. To those being ridiculously honest: Would you tell them if you...

    Need advice !

It's definitely no cheaper to insure a car, but it's probably more useful per dollar. Also, can we please stop defending it based on likelihood of crashing? That's clearly not the issue. You can get similar coverage (and I do mean similar; accident benefits and all) in the USA for 1/10th of the...

Motorcyclists urged to ride defensively by OPP after deaths

Hmm, y'know if they really wanted us to be safe, they'd be encouraging filtering to avoid rear-enders. But logic is not something to be applied to the OPP I guess.

    WTB - Kawasaki Concours 1000

Looking to get a Concours 1000, as it's the only real sport tourer under 1000cc it seems (997). Prefer 1994 or newer. Hope I can find a match on here!

How are you guys finding affordable insurace?

Somewhat this. As for what I think it should be, I think we should compare to similar markets, and especially compare young drivers to similar markets. Young drivers pay outrageously higher premiums than older drivers here, whereas in similar markets (in the USA) we're talking maybe 50% more...

Riding the Valley these days....hope the the City keeps the Don HOV lanes permanent..

Could refer to either. It all depends on what you like to do in life. It's expensive to live in the city if what you like to do is work on bikes in the garage. It's expensive to live outside the city if what you like to do is go to downtown events.

Riding the Valley these days....hope the the City keeps the Don HOV lanes permanent..

Sorry man, no sympathy. I live in Whitby, work downtown. I made that choice knowing what my commute looks like. Train happens to work for me. If it didn't I'd move closer to the city (or I would find a different job).

Mad Max Run? WE NEED A TORONTO RUN!

Those pistols are very likely fake or BB guns (note the lack of trigger discipline). Even still, what's wrong with them? I'd carry if I could. On topic: Cool lookin' bikes.

    18 - M2 - 1987 250R - Insurance Help

Speeding tickets from 1-49km/h over are all identical to insurance; they're minor tickets. OP: Do you have a car? Bundle it. Otherwise, John R Duffy insured me my first year with Facility, and it really wasn't all that bad ($3000/yr). They have an online quote tool too.

How are you guys finding affordable insurace?

Can't blame it on inequal payments; ****** drivers pay even more dearly than good drivers. We're talking thousands more. I've seen quotes upwards of $8000 with 2 tickets and 1 accident. To the OP: Bundle with your car, and shop your whole policy (both vehicles, home/tenant if applicable) to...

If that bag of dirty diapers belongs to the daycare who haphazardly didn't tie up the bag, then yes, the rider should sue.

Can insurance drop you for just a charge (without a conviction)?

Actually, I've had this at-fault, and a not-at-fault (confirmed 0%) about 1 month prior. Can't not-at-faults be held against me at all? I was under the impression that it doesn't matter at all...

    Motorcycle Star Rating?

Yes, I've heard you'll only be rated for motorcycle accidents for your motorcycle insurance. That's what my broker said, at least

Can insurance drop you for just a charge (without a conviction)?

Sure, but in accordance with some standard of practice, right? I'd imagine there are straight up rules in place so you can't just have insurers dropping people for one accident.

Why the heck are used dual sports/adventure bikes so expensive?

Those riding GSXRs might, but I ride 15+ year old standards/sport tourings, except my Vulcan 900. They're mid-displacement standards, so they're insured as such, but the 'legend' of low insurance is for some reason tied to adventure bikes.
