Where did you see a seat height of 47"? Spec i saw said 35in or so, and 33in in the lower position.

So far the AT has apparently done a lot better with its DCT.

It is still lighter vs the GSA, by 13lb or so. Changing the exhaust etc will bring the AT much closer to 470-480lb.

Its not a question of if it CAN be repaired its more so is it WORTH it. Maybe swap in a suzuki SV650 engine? I believe its a near straight swap.
