Exactly, when you filter you end up sharing the lane with the car at the front. Then as soon as the light turns green you go and being on a motorcycle you accelerate much fast then the cars. This way you are not causing any congestion or slowing anyone elses commute.

If you do it consistently you will save a lot of time. Like half your commute time if traffic is bad. If you are within the GTA.

I try to avoid it as I had people try to block me with their car, come and and try to fight, swear at me from their window.. etc. Sometimes though if I am in a hurry or its very hot and I am wearing gear... lanes start to blur
