Speed limit on most of that road should be 80 with a yellow sign showing 50 in the twisty sections (like it is in America on mountain roads). On the top where there are homes 50 is appropriate as the limit but the rest being 50 is a joke.
I went out today to visit family and run some errands. There is still a surprising amount of people using two wheel vehicles around the 416. Saw at least 3 other riders on the road and lots of bikes / scooters parked around.
And the point is that we should be able to use that riding skill without the GTAM Nanny's saying that any type of riding outside of posted speed limit is sure to lead to insurance rate increases and a bad image for motorcycle riders everywhere.
Time and place and leave no trace...
Going to the ice cream joint or Tim's to pose is not a sport but riding twisty roads and trying to improve your technique by becoming smoother and more fluid with your lines / throttle sure sounds like a sport to me. I am not talking about going 200 km/h or knee dragging on the road, that's for...
Summary of thread:
The usual nanny's are pointing out that we as Canadians / Ontarians are too stupid to make our own decisions and must under all circumstances follow the rules and regulations set out by bureaucrats who have never ridden a motorcycle before. They know whats best for everyone...
Was there two weeks ago and it was in pristine condition, must have been repaved last year. There was a touch of gravel on I think 3 of the corners going westbound but you can see it well in advance and take a line that avoids it.
I have actually and it was pretty fun to be honest. If I were to downsize, it would be to an sv650. But you cant compare it to a bike that makes 65lb/ft torque at 4k rpm
The appeal of powerful bikes with lots of torque is that you dont have to work hard to go fast and have a good time. Sure an sv650 might get 70hp which is all u need but ill be at 10k rpm. My 1200 Bandit will make that power at 6k rpm which means that I can feel the rush without travelling at...
I think this is a reasonable price. Chain and sprockets can be had for $200 and $100 to install at a shop or do it yourself fee.
its actually not a bad bike to buy, fix and re-sell for 2500
The CBF1000 has been on my radar for a while. What year did you get? It seems like a pretty good sport TOURING with heavy emphasis on touring. I ended up going the complete opposite direction and grabbing a Tuono which will be used for SPORT touring.
That road keeps you on your toes. You go over a blind hill and all of the sudden you there is a corner right there. Did you hit anything on the wv side?
