I have a motormaster battery with a date stamp Mar 08 that still good. All I do for my battery tender(2 amp) is plug it in for a few days here and there.
I didn't do anything to my 91 ethanol-free fuel last year. All I did was shut my fuel off, run the bike until it stalled, and restart with the coke on until it stalled. Probably bad in some sense, but I didn't have issues come spring.
Run 91 octane, park bike, pull battery. If you can put on a stand. If not push the bike a foot every month or two at most. Use a cover to help keep it clean ish.
For me. About 30 minutes ago and I took my bike on the 401 for the first time in about 15 years. How boring going straight, and limited myself to 120kph. If it was a long drive I'd probably fall asleep. Now that scary.
The local Tim horton's motorcycle hangout spot sales this weekend will be at a low.
Riding the rain is 'interesting' and not meant for weekend tim horton's riders.
Check if your carbs are getting fuel?
The thing is with old bikes you'd need know how to wrench or they'll be expensive like a high maintenance girlfriend.
I usually just put down $500. Then again my bikes are old and the newest I own is 93.
I remember a while back I sold a bike and got a letter in the mail asking for info. Since the buyer was a bit of dick I decided to stick it to him and put on another $500 to the price that was paid. hahaha
I believe in riding gear. Ever see a skinned palm? Last year while at the hospital waiting for the doc. I overheard two nurses talking on how the one spent most of her shift cleaning 'road grime' out some poor guy on a motorcycle.
However for me I just happen to have some time off...
I found ebay in the off season to more hit than miss.
I bought an alpinestars t-gp pro jacket for $200, tech gloves for 100, supertech r boots $150, and a pair of astars oxygen riding pants for $100. All in usa, and shipped prices.
New retail is well over $1k easy.
I have a used one that I only used for a season for sale. I thought it was pretty good for holding my q10 blackberry at a not legal speed. I ended up gettin a tank bag instead as I had too much on the go.
