    He's back ... sort of

Interesting.. Surely he is not making the same coin with Enduro contract he signed... Either way, it's good for the sport.

    Ganaraska

Awesome riding in the snow today! Had one of the best rides of the season, despite scoring a set of bruised upper ribs after hugging a tree during a massive get-off trying to avoid a puddle! Single track was super slick, but beautiful riding the bike through a snow wonderland.

Simcoe County Forest on street bike?

Most SCORRA Tracts have wide gravel/double track roads and single track. You can have sufficient fun on the main 'roads' on a 80/20 tire.

    35% off LEAT (US)

Hey guys, I have a few promo codes left for 35% off LEATT gear (LEATT Direct, via their US website), expiring this year. If anyone is looking to upgrade their gear, let me know, happy to share (but please ask if you are actually going to order, not just to hoard as the qtty of passes is limited).

    KTM 790 Adventure R

Now how does one justify $30k for a 450 factory rally... :) We digress... ...on the topic, the price is getting BMW high...like buying a land yacht. I never understand why anyone would buy an ADV bike new from dealer.

    KTM 790 Adventure R

That's the rally setup at DSP? That fairing and nav tower is a very pretty penny on it's own... ...but yes the prices of performance ADV machines are on the up and up... Cool looking Katoom... I'd just hate to see what a rock picked up a leading bike on a gravel road would do to those Tron...

    Dual Sport Insurance

you mean Green Plates ;) ...it goes by class of bike in the insurance system. The WR450 is classified as a Green Plate on their master list, so even if you have one of the older blue-plated gems, they still have it in the GREEN category on their $$$ matrix. I believe (i'm not an insurance wiz...

    Dual Sport Insurance

I would have your insurance agent check their price on RED Huskies (BMW-era red 610, 630, 650, 510...) and if successful, search out Kijiji for one. I've had Intact quote me something ridiculous like 180-300ish on TE610 before, as they had it in their system as a DIRT BIKE... You are still...

    Trail Tours- Ganaraska- Newb review

I don't know who picked up 'touring' :) ....but I was referring to all-day riding scenic yet challenging trails like (anywhere in) Mojave, BC's mountainous interior and Death Valley... For a few hours of blasting around enclosed forest tracts, I can see the appeal (except you will likely be...

    Trail Tours- Ganaraska- Newb review

2T is not for everyone. The weight is nice but the high-intensity whining engine isn't always fun on a lazy, scenic ride. I rented one in BC thinking exactly along the lines you suggested and found that it really didn't add much to the experience except for serious noise pollution and anxious...

Shipping Moto South (if you are headed down, let me pay your Gas!)

Lowest quote I got was $600 and it involved hassle with crating. I'd trust a fellow rider with a record on this forum and expect that hitching a ride on their multi-bike trailer would be considerably less. Personally I've never charged anyone (for a short haul to a mutual ride) and would expect...

Shipping Moto South (if you are headed down, let me pay your Gas!)

[the following also posted on ODSC and ADV Rider] Hello, if anyone is planning a trip south (Moab, Arizona, Nashville, Atlanta, whatever) and has space on their trailer (one way only), please PM me and I'd be happy to negotiate a fee to ferry one additional bike down. Destination and timing is...

@iceman do you happen to have tracks in that area? Thinking of heading that way this weekend, would be lovely to have some reference points.

Toronto to Charlotte, North Carolina Advice

Ugh... i guess they haven't built any new fun roads since 6yrs ago when i last rode that area! :) OK, adjusted my route and the detour is only 100Kms, should make for a more interesting ride though...

Toronto to Charlotte, North Carolina Advice

Looking for advice on a quick (but fun) route from TO to NC incorporating some good twisties. Would any one have any suggestions of some segments I'm missing along the way? I've added the Blue Ridge and 219 is (mildly) interesting, but is there anything along the way that is parallel to the...

anyone ever used a rear thumb brake on their dirt bike?

Your rear brake pedal needs to be adjusted. Try raising the pedal higher up (back out the screw on the opposite side of the pivot from the pedal). It will take a few tries to find the best adjustment and you will love the rear on the first few stops on a flat ground, but once you put some hours...

Where can I learn to ride in dirt?

TrailTours is the BEST place to START. Clinton is better once you have some wits about riding in the dirt. You are wasting good instruction on absolute basics IMO.
