IMO, I think skill level and lack of speed are the two main issues. Get them off sidewalks and park trails, set the limiter at 50km/h instead of 32km/h. and institute a system where you go online to answer a number of questions to get a e-bike license (similar to boats).
Grats on passing the course!
I had to LOL at how quickly you went form thanking one of the posters for making you realize how cocky and confident you quickly became to deciding most here are basement dwelling dweebs intent on keeping the noobs down.
looks like drumstyx's assessment is on the money; the decision the Saskatchewan gov't arrived at:

Yeah, I'm totally in favour of this practice, as long as every year that I don't use these services I get a rebate cheque, and while we're at it, why is everything that picks my pocket the new normal, and everything that can save me money I have no option to opt out of? Rationally I understand...
I did this route on my own today. For a 4 hr. or so ride we've used this route a few times with newish riders in tow, it's not absolutely "new rider" friendly but it mostly is. Where you choose to make the starting point is up to you... :)

From today's ride, Fenlon Falls:
I found different tires can really make a difference in how tar snakes feel. I just ride over them and kinda enjoy the squirrely feeling, you won't go down, my suggestion for what it's worth is to stay relaxed, focused, and don't try to overcompensate because that's when your bike will end up...
Yeah I know what you mean RetroGrounch, my bike does not conform to the rules, unless I started unbolting plastic.... but still it sounds like it could be fun, and really almost any bike could be made to qualify with a little stripping down.
Is it possible that the helmet in the duffle is what got run over and in the confusion and panic that ensued you believed it to be your own head?
That is a pretty traumatic thing to go through, I'm impressed to see you handling it as well as you have. Count me in as another that thinks you...
Just do it again OP, I'm sure you'll pass next time. Some of you are not being very understanding... the equivalent would be for you to go to Quebec and take the test. Just saying...
