If you could save on insurance cost would you submit to this?

Device that monitors riding habits, would mean same insurance price for a SS as a cruiser. http://www.newstalk650.com/story/sgi-working-put-new-monitoring-device-motorcycles/113258

Over the heel? You gonna squid it in loafers? :P I'm just poking fun, they need to be over the ankle... and yes hiking boots are fine.

Suggestions/Help choosing a middle weight sports bike

Unlikely since no ABS, but If you are considering a F4i you may want to also consider a YZF600r - makes a pretty good tourer.

    Ringing/Whistling type noise

If you only hear it while moving then I would look for anything on the bike that could produce a "whistle" when the wind passes over it (same idea as blowing across the lip of an open bottle will create a sound) and put some tape on it to see if the sound goes away or changes frequency. The...

    Ringing/Whistling type noise

Does it happen only when in motion or also when idling?

    Gas mileage problem.

Your fuel consumption has everything to do with your short commute, as was already pointed out by BNKN cold engine=high fuel consumption. A longer run will return better fuel consumption numbers, but it won't do anything for your short commute numbers. You'll just have to move farther away from...

Most common motorcycle accident scenarios simulated.

Very interesting. First scenario played fine for me the rest kept stopping, maybe too much GTA traffic to the website lol

    A Difficult Spouse....

IMO your husband is being selfish. My wife does not ride, nor does she want to, despite my encouragement for her to try. But I understand, it's not for everyone. I do things with her that I have no interest in, I don't stop her from doing things she is passionate about. The reverse is also true...

are all dot 3 and dot 4 brake fluids created equal?

Yeah I think all the brands are pretty similar. The same DOT3 or DOT4 brake fluid is used for cars or bikes. The main difference between DOT3 and 4 is the boiling point, DOT4 can handle more heat before braking performance (and the fluid itself) degrades. I don't think you'll notice the...

Sorry to hear about the drop. On the bright side though, you both walked away unharmed.

Another young rider died near 400 and hwy 7

I made the assumption that it must be WB 7 to SB 400, it never occured to me it could be the EB ramp just because as you said, it's a gentle, sweeping right. Although that would allow one to carry more speed.

Another young rider died near 400 and hwy 7

This is very sad. RIP rider, and no disrespect to the rider or family & friends, you have my condolences. IMO Decreasing radius ramps + guardrails + inexperience = disaster http://goo.gl/maps/od497 this satellite view of the area shows the radius of the ramps, if you look at the southbound...

Has commuting on your bike, reduced your passion for riding?

A lot of different perspectives, very interesting, gives me lots to consider. There's definitely something to this hobby idea. When I think about it, anecdotally speaking, those in the far north that travel by snowmobile don't go for trail rides on a regular basis, fishermen don't go for boat...

Has commuting on your bike, reduced your passion for riding?

I started commuting to work regularly (as in every day during riding season) about three years ago, been riding about 10 years. I used to look forward to getting home and often I'd go for a scoot in the evening, and always on the weekend. Three things have happened since I started commuting; I...

    Motorcycle death statistic in GTA

It's hard to know the context, someone compiled the stats, but what was the criteria for capturing them? Maybe it was deaths within 20km of places the author has lived? It's difficult to tell with the limited information available...

Comprehensive Motorcycle Crash Study (Europe )

bikesafer interprets speed as being a factor whereas motorcyclistonline says speed is not a factor. Always interesting to see what happens to results subject to interpretation.
