Sorry to hear about your drop. dont let it bring you down, it's very common. the proper technique for people who can't just pick it up is: 1) place your back against the bike 2) grab some part of the frame (or handle bar) with one hand and the passenger peg with another hand 3) stand up...

Don't do a vinyl wrap. It scratches easily and is priced similar to painting.

I kind of agree on the resale value. Your best bet to keep the resale value is find a scrap set of fairings and fix them up. This way you can always swap it back to the original's when/if you sale. When I did my bike I looked for spare fairings all over the place and actually ended up paying...

I'm very well aware of the economic term "supply and demand" as I did spend 3 years doing an undergrad in economics I just didn't put two plus two together, haha... You get what you pay for. I for one did my own paint job and saved a few bucks but took me a good few months.
