Seeing as how this is an older thread, this may help you for the next time around that you decide to transport a bike in a van, a "mini van that is".
I rented a grand caravan to go to Florida last month and took my bike with me, easy peasy.
The van tailgate opening was 39" my bike measured 40"...
Congratulations on a good choice. I tracked an 05 SV for a few years and I miss having sold it. They are a very competitive machine when we'll sorted out.
Your insurance premiums will thank you
Re: Triumph Rat
Allan's advice is worth noting, there is zero luggage on the triumph, I have a Thruxton and decided to make this....both sides, I call it a " murse support", I can get away with it, I'm italian.....

Nice example of a T100, I really dig the black / red combo, congratulations.

Yea really.....I'm with you on this, it's almost like those who post can't wait to say it online.
I am of the opinion is that It should be restricted for major incidents only.
Get used to this and many other incidents that will happen. It happens all the time when your driving a car but people don't seem too concerned, shrug it off and continue, it will make you a better rider.
Ever hear other riders say, " get some track time in and you'll be better on the street"...
