You're right, they aren't rinky dink operations, which means they've considered the potential loss of sales versus risk and decided it just wasn't worth their time. I'm pretty sure the company selling ~$30k bikes knows what they're doing.
I went through this fear. Just know that the fear is generally unfounded because the bend is so wide that as a motorcycle you have a lot of comfort room when taking the bend. Push steering is a must, but you'll realize you don't need to lean all that much. I just took the on-ramp one morning and...
You need tools to remove your seat? Odd.
I keep mine in and added a couple things to it. Helps to have around when your Speedo cable decides to come undone and you're about to go on the highway.
If you're going to make comparisons and use analogies, at least make some attempt to think up one that can be seen as logical and, at the bare minimum, intelligent.
My worst fear is when I'm on the line of a red light. I worry one of those people who flies towards a red light and cuts into the lane with the least amount of traffic isn't going to stop in time or at all. Constantly have my eyes looking back and keep myself ready to go right away.
GWS Rider.
This. I was dead set on a new bike earlier this year and then started reading this forum. Ended up with a used bike that I've already dropped twice. I would have been absolutely ****** if it were new, but being used I didn't mind having a few minor cosmetic scratches.
Viffer, do older bikes...
Thanks again! I keep taking your sleep away :P
Looks like most of yours are older models. I was hoping to grab new, so I found the Kawi ER-6n and Versys appealing. Also the Suzuki VSTROM is decent. Not sure about the KLR650 anymore since it's a dual sport and I never plan on going off-road. I'm...
Thanks for the list! Forgot to check back after posting until now. I've decided to ditch my Ninja for next season and try something that isn't a sport bike.
Anyone got suggestions for bikes with a bit more of an upright natural position? Something between a sport bike and a cruiser.
Edit: To...
True, it's really a situation that you would have to deal with at the time. It's a very grey scenario. I'd prefer not to run the red because most times when I'd have to would be at night and I just wouldn't want to risk being blindsided in the event I don't see the car or they're ripping it down...
So is running the red. I'd think getting off your bike at a red light would be easier to explain considering you would be off your bike... at a red light. Running a red? Not always believable.
Sounds like you aren't looking hard enough for insurance. I'm 26, never held a G class license, just got my M2 this year and I'm paying $1440 for my first year on a Ninja 250. Admittedly it's an older one, but you should really consider a used bike for your first year. I've already dropped mine...
Re: Rider Down - Me: Steeles & Mississauga (cannot start new threads in fallen rdrs)
Glad to hear you survived relatively unscathed considering you went 25 feet in the air.
If you do retain a lawyer to see what else can be had, just make sure you know what you're getting into.
