I never get it when people quip that. $19k harley, $4k in upgrades, 3 years later worth 14k. $13k yamaha, $1k in upgrades, 3 years later worth $8k ... perhaps if you are looking a percentages of depreciation, but loss of real dollars, the lower priced bike pretty much wins every time.

I personally never really got the oil relocation expenditure. Changed my own oil + filter for 7 years, twice a year. Yes, take the brake + exhaust off, but gives you a chance to clean in behind which you may want to do anyway. Nice ride BTW. Loved mine while i had it.

Great helmet. 2 years on VFR. The visor will sometimes not close 100% when on, but you can play around with it a bit. Funny, but always closes when off. Rather streamline (much better than the round lids of the 80's and 90's). I don't find it overly quiet, but as someone suggested, earplugs are...

Damn that's a fine looking ride. Don't know why it's run under the radar. I've looked at the ZXR1100 in the past but the Zepher appears to have much nicer flowing lines. New though, they are not cheap! Papa's gotta start saving :)

VTX 1300 is a very well-received bike. I put it on-par with but perhaps not quite as much pull as my Star 1300. However, the 1800 is, in this reviewers opinion, not as good. Side-by-side they look similar, the spec sheet reads somewhat equally, but the 1800 was a little on the unmanageable side...
